Maxwell!!

Was anyone else disappointed with the last record: BLACKsummersnight?

Embrya was incredible - from the songs to the imagery to the arrangements to the lyrics to the production - he was incredibile and really set into motion what I thought was going to be an artistic journey that I was more than happy to follow. Having Alan Leeds as his tour manager just made things that much more interesting!

Then he took many steps back with Now and even more with BLACK. Looks like he lost his nuts and got shook by the fame and game.

Anyhow, here's hoping that Embrya Maxwell returns!

Anyone else love Embrya?

I thought the last album was pretty good. Someone Stop the World is probably one of the best slow jams by any R&B artist in years...had Help Somebody on repeat for a weekd...If you hadn't played the Pretty Wings snippet for 9 months straight you probably would agree that it was one on the best ballads he's ever written. NOW was uneven...I can't listen to Embrya if I plan on staying awake.

1 over Jordan...the greatest since

EMBRYA... This is my fave M's Album...

The only track I skip sometimes is Rice with Chicken...

And I got this a while ago on vinyl (since it doesn't exist in another format...) and guess what?

I started my vinyl collection (again!) lol

This the OPUS for Cococure

I love that track!!

Thanks for posting!

The vocal melody for the Luxury from the Essence award show from 1998 was ridiculous as well... was a bit surprised to hear the album version when it came out. By the way, Prince was in attendance that night at the Essence awards.

Great tune. Here's co-writer Leon Ware's take on it:

I love that man.
Against the ruin of the world, there
is only one defense: the creative act.

Omfg! This is a masterpiece! It's so damn sexy and mature! Got a sista Whoa!

I liked Midsummer but it was wasn't my absolute favorite of all his releases. His voice is definitely not the same as if he cannot hit those high notes anymore. Fist Full actually sounds like he's screaming a bit, however I still love the song. It took me several plays to figure out why it sounded so ruff, and for sure his voice has changed. Anyone else think so?
On another note.....WHERE THE HELL IS HE THESE DAYS! I'm craving someone sexy
singing in my ears and these busters that are out now are not filling that
void.
