Depeche Mode- Ultra One of Depeche Modes most overlooked albums!
This is probably the darkest album the guys ever did, come off Dave's heroin abuse and a lot of turmoil in the band members lifes. Dave got singing lessons and tried to better himself & Martin Gore wrote and composed some great songs, and i like that there is more guitar in this album as well.
Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

It's probably my favorite DM album, collaborating with Tim Simenon from Bomb The Bass was exactly the kick they needed. I remember buying the CD single of "It's No Good" when it came out. That and "Love Thieves" are my favorites.
What's awesome is that my manager's wife used to work at Mute Records and she is thanked in the liner notes for this album. They have a sales plaque (a platinum one I think) for this album on their wall and loads of cool merch/promo stuff. |

I've said this before, but I got into them through my sister, who's a huge fan.
"Home" is my favorite DM song! I first heard it live at MSG, and pestered my sister about giving me a copy of it. She gave me Ultra to listen to.
I love the video for "Useless". "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World" | |
