Okay the Gladys tribute:

Oh my Freddie Jackson.... pray he needs prayer.

1. Tamar was just okay.

2. Lawd has Chrisette gained bookoo weight? She wasn't that impressive either.

3. Oh no they got Marsha up here again? disbelief don't mean no harm, but it looks as if she gaining some of that weight back. She still looks good but she sounds awful.

4. Mary Mary, loved them.

5. Natalie Cole, can't help but to love her. (was it just me or did they never do a close up on Natalie Cole until she presented the award to Gladys???)

Gladys was preaching on that stage. clapping

Loved that performance with BeBe too.

Okay, I'll go ahead and say it since it doesn't seem like anyone else has yet. Booty Booty Booty Booty rockin everywhere! lol

Ooh Wee. Don't know if it was Mary #1 or Mary #2. The one with those black pants!!!

I'm starting to re-think my position on Marsha. This is about the third time I've seen her not sound good live. On the BET Christmas show she messed up Christmas Time Is Here. Now these other tributes to legends, Gladys and Patti didn't sound good either. I'm just saying.

The Time was great as always

Marsha looked and sounded like ba ba black sheep....whoever is styling her these days ought to be shot...I'm a bit confused at how she has been sounding live these days.

I too noticed there was no close up of Natalie, she looked and sounded great. Lalah and Chrisette was good but boy everyone seemed so much bigger, weight wise that is....very unflattering outfits on just about everyone, with the exception of Gladys, Natalie and Melanie.

Ceelo barefoot...wow....but he sounded great....could have watched that irritating Walmart cyber week ad 20 more times then to watch Lloyd and Miguel again....WTF was that!

I hate to admit but Eric did well with the high notes....that is probably the first time I could stomach watching his ass.

the audience seemed dead or there was serious poor editing and yes Heavy D tribute was nice but waaay to short.

i think something else is going on with Marsha. I hope its not what i think it is. Because she is so talented. She also looked horrible. Who told her and what in the hell made her wear that wig? I had high hopes for her. Hope she gets it together. The entertainment industry is a tough businees they will spit u out and leave u high and dry. After watching the show it was not as bad as this thread indicates. The old school acts were somewhere around 100% better than the new school acts though.

How Mint Condition could not have won something this year is pure nonsense in my book. They had the BEST R&B/Funk cd out this year.

I feel ya. The one on the left and not pregnant. Although her sister packs a punch too in that department, she's in that maternity mode I guess.

I think my television would have tipped over if they would have zoomed in on that from behind lol

Miguel needs to be shot ... bang, bang.

I happened to tune in just as the tribute to Gladys was starting. It was very well done and Gladys sounds great as always, but then shortly after that this Miguel comes on and I have to say WTF? This guy is awful. Who told him he could sing or gave him a record deal for that matter??

In defense to all the hate going toward Miguel. He is actually very talented & wrote a lot of songs for other artist before he became an rnb star in his own right. He reminds me a lot of Prince when he first came out. People were saying the same things. Like what is that? He is gay or look gay. But Prince surprised everybody. This dude will to. He is a future superstar. u will be eating your words. I dig his sound. But did anyone see the way Jellybean was looking at him? Like what is that?

i agree!. Miguel was refreshing to watch and sounded good. in addition it's really nice to see male vocalist actually singing and coming to the forefront with unique lyrical styles.

imo, it's time for rap to take a wrap, or move over and let love ballads, vocalized dance songs and great singing voices blend together once again with real musical instruments. today there are so many creative instrumentalist that have taken a back seat to rap music, and that's okay. however imo it's time to move beyond sampling, biting and music machines. it's quite obvious rap can be called music. however rap has very few legitimate musicians.

i guess i just like the real deal. no disrespect meant.

it's just that i'm glad to once again see and hear talented male vocalist standing up and be ing appreciated. finally. real musicians are such an inspiration to the youth.

before i can give a full assessment of the show, i'll have to watch a replay, because i got distracted right after Miguel left the stage.

what's that guys name who had on the blue suit. he had dark blond hair. anyway, i also liked his voice.

I did hear some Miguel songs.

I'm not impressed. And I didn't care about his bitching ass getting no Grammy nod. Too bad so sad...
