Wasn't that from the Vogue years?

I doubt she feared that especially since they could have easily mixed with the Erotica music
But she was always good about promoting that album and mixing in a few songs from other albums
I thought it was because the Evita film was in the works

She was undergoing heavy vocal training for the Evita role and competing for the part

Yes, but Sheila E used this concept in a song in a sensual / sexual way, no doubt something Madonna decided to do too....that poster looks funny/cheesy, when did that come out?

The Bedtime Story video is so ahead of it's time, like something that would come out today. I really hope she does more videos like this with the new album, but ahead of the rest of the competition, like always. [Edited 12/3/11 2:33am]

Yes. | |

Yeah I just put it on, I remember when it came out and would have to sit around all day to wait for it to air since it didn't chart very high.

fyi: Madonna's Bedtime Stories was written by Bjork who gave her a throwaway song because a friend of Bjork loved Madonna and begged Bjork to collaborate with Madonna when Madge asked for Bjork to do an entire album with her. Bjork's initial reaction was to deny the collaboration request but came through as a favor to her friend. I doubt Bjork (or 99% of the world's population) knew Prince pinned a song for Shiela of the same title. Space for sale...

That was a response to the Sheila E. stuff.

all true...
didn't Wendy & Lisa have a similar album title to Erotica, too, tho???? Isn't "Like A Prayer" and "Im Breathless" very Sign o The Times and Batman, respectively? I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

^ Yes but it was Eroica and that title was borrowed from Beethoven! [Edited 12/3/11 12:39pm]

Madonna herself spoke about the song Bedtime Story during a Ray of Light promo interview and wanting to do electronic music after continuing that path, though she felt it came from dance music anyways. I was watching it earlier today after so long (the Muchmusic interview). She was so mature and witty all at once in that interview, and very confident with herself.

No, but that is true about Eroica, it's a famous work by Beethoven....

I just wondered to myself, was MJ enjoying this album and it came out on Invincible?
2000 Watts bassline in the intro reminds me of Bedtime Stories Whatever Happens is the same scale as Secret with a bit of a Spanish influence slightly He got cocky on some tracks like she did on Survivor and Human Nature

FWIW, I enjoy "Your Honesty" more than at least half the album. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Damn. That song is so great! too bad they didn't put it on the album...

I have Bedtime Stories and barely play it. It was around the time of her Dita effort. I think Erotica was just before it.

Know what's funny? Those around my age who like madOnna and go to her tours for old times sake mOstly say bedtime stories was her best era, and these are people who were into r&b and alternative at the time. She has so many better eras though I do think some of the best work came out of it too.
