No, but unfortunately there's a possibility that she will be nominated given her past with the Grammys.

Agreed. I can see Jill, Marsha, R. Kelly, and Raphael Saadiq being serious contenders. But you know for sure that they are gonna put Beyonce in there, but she is not completely deserving of it.

Jill Scott - The Light of the Sun

Marsha Ambrosius - Late Nights and Early Mornings

R. Kelly - Love Letter

Raphael Saadiq - Stone Rollin'

Other possible contenders:

Mint Condition - 7

Ledisi - Pieces of Me

Kem - Intimacy

Musiq - Magiqinthemusiq

Bootsy Collins - Tha Funk Capital of the World

Aretha Franklin - A Woman Falling Out of Love (Seriously doubt this one!)

Aloe Blacc - Good Things

Only a dream come true if they were limit to only these artists...

I REALLY REALLY REALLY think Jill should get the grammy and would love it!! but knowing the grammys she might not even get a nomination and probably wont win sad I think Marsha, Rkelly, Raphael. Mint, Musiq had pretty STRONG R&B albums and DESERVED to be nominated or win something..

Hell I rather them give it to R.Kelly for Love Letter (personally dont think its the BEST but grammys formulate on popularity and kels honestly had a pretty solid album) than just giving it to Beyonce... but KNOWING the Grammys and how they operate thats probably what is going to happen once again

if not her.. Chris Brown or Rihanna

I personally don't think R. Kelly will win if he's nominated considering Love Letter didn't get a hoopla of attention and received limited success. But he's a highly credible contender, considering for the last decade since his first couple of nominations in the R&B field, he wasn't winning too big. This might be an interesting nomination out of all of them.

And as for Jill and Marsha...they are gonna be neck-to-neck with each other in the R&B field, particularly in the Best R&B Album field. Jill might be the bigger winner out of the two considering the attention she's gotten for The Light of the Sun, but both had a great year.

Yup nod I think so too. Although you did mention some great contenders earlier.

I actually won't be surprised if R. does NOT get nominated.

R.Kelly didnt get alot of hoopla but he did get alot massive airplay on r&b stations. He had a pretty good year to. They overplayed When a Woman Loves and Love Letter to death...

I hope Jill wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT either way between her and Marsha I would be happy either way...BUT ya just never know with the grammys...

R. Kelly's Love Letter album did get a lot of attention and it sold well. I'll be shocked if he's not nominated for that album because many critics were buzzing about LL just last year.

I think it could've done a BETTER job but apparently either he or Jive or both decided not to...

Who the hell knows? She might be up for R&B nods if anything. I don't think she has major pop support this year but we'll find out.

I really hope she gets nothing because she doesnt deserve to win anything but then again when has Beyonce won something she exactly deserved? oopps I said to much.. fuck it.

She didnt have a good year commercially at all for sales and airplay wise. If she does win anything its politics like it usually is everytime and anytime she wins something. I wish they just let that go and just allow real talent to shine for a change. There are other artists that have a chance of beating her in the r&b nods but knowing the grammys they might just give it to her for ratings like they ALWAYS do.

I FUCKIN HATE THE GRAMMYS AND AWARD SHOWS YALL CAN KISS MY BLACK ASS so full of crap and the naive public feeds into it.

Adele deserves a sweep fair and square the PUBLIC has spoken. If she doesnt sweep Im writing a petition because this is ridiculous.

Tee-hee!!!falloff

She will deff get Nods in those categories...If she did a Duet with ANYBODY on the album she'll probably get a Nod for "Best R&B Duo/Group".....The voters will be too Fucking confused to pick any other Duo/Groups so they gotta pick people they know....It's SAD when you think about it...

Hell, I say THROW the Gospel Duo Mary-Mary in the mix for "Best R&B Duo/Group"....

Uh...NO. And she won't get a nod in the Best R&B Duo/Group thing either so you can forget it. She didn't have a duo with an R&B performer of any sort in a while so I can't see it honestly.

Oh, they'll probably just make one up just so she can get a nomination. That Grammy committee adores her. I just don't understand it. Maybe she's given them all lap-dances or something.

So if she sweeps the R&B field this year (which I'm positive she will if she's nominated), then that means she will have surpassed Aretha in the most Grammies won by a black female artist. eek shocked

Come on Timmy.. me and you both know thats wishful thinking. The Grammys dont give a damn about artistic merit or the fact that Aretha Franklin is far more influential and DYNOMITTEEE than Beyawnnnceee.... business is business

I just know that they have already proved they are not credible anymore... I really dont care either way.

To be honest, the Grammys got some different members who don't know nothing about anything lol

Interesting that Kanye LEADS the Nominations pack this year...His 7-Nominations has the "Rap Category" on Lock-down and he'll probably sweep come Grammy night.....He had a great year but I didnt think GRAMMY voters would show the Brotha any serious Love this go'round...They shut him out of "Album of the year" though...Hmmmm..

Everybody's "IT girL" Adele topped the Nods-list with 6-Nominations...Hope they don't do an "India Arie" on ol'girl....

Bruno Mars shines with 6-Nominations...

The Foo Fighters got 6-nominations..

Lil Wayne stands Tall with 5-Nominations..

Tony Bennett & GaGa got 3 or more nominations...

Beyonce only got 2-Nominations..Not surprised at all...She's AWESOME but her LIVE performing was the focus not so much the work she recorded...She could very well GRAB both trophies come Grammy night...

I am SHOCKED Kelly Price got 3-nominations in the R&B Category...I didnt expect that at all...Love Kelly and it will be interesting to see if the Sanging Sista will sweep the categories...Wow..I know she's excited...

Kirk Franklin is nominated for Best Gospel Song & Gospel Album of the year and he will win both GRAMMYS....I'm not a big fan of the Gospel-community-Fan favorite Kim Burrell but she got a Nod this year for Best Gospel Album...

I really think Eric Bennet with his 1 nomination will walk away with Best R&B vocal performance...The Brotha is sanging that song and R&B radio made it a radio hit...

I think Tony Bennett's "Duets II", Kanye's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" and Adele's "21" are likely to be nominated for the AOTY. That's all I got. They may try to throw in some other nods from different genres to appear cool and in touch. They always do that and then vote for the Tony Bennett's of the industry. They're bias like the Oscars when it comes the recognizing modern talent. I don't believe in the "making up for the past" awards. But that's another story.

Here's the real question though: Who's has the better album, Kanye or Adele? Just on artistic merits. Forget about Kanye's past tantrums and douchebagness, forget about Adele being a top seller this year and releasing two great singles that dominated sales and radio.

The Grammys are VERY biased... nobody takes that shit seriously who has a brain AND to answer your question unbiasedly.... Adele...

I was not impressed at all by Kanye. I dont think Adeles music is a masterpiece either but compared to what her peers puts out and usually puts out her music was like fresh... never thought a song like Rolling In The Deep would be so popular... there is nothing pop about it at all... if were speaking in artistic terms...

Nicely put. I feel the same way. I'm not a fan of Kanye at all. He may have some decent tunes, but his style and ego do nothing for me. I think Adele has real talent, but nothing that I would swoon over. I like her 2 cd's a lot and I'm happy for her to be getting this recognition, but IMO she's no Amy Winehouse. Amy had something rare and an amazing style too.
