Beyonce's not getting any pop nods. Adele, Gaga, Katy, Rihanna, and Taylor will shut her out. The Grammys (thankfully) don't always base it off skin color so Forehead will rightfully be missing from the r&b field. She'll score in the pop & dance arena. The Grammys will also do the correct thing by putting Swift in pop vocal but then they'll take two steps back by giving her country wins when she doesn't deserve them over someone more worthy. How on earth did "White Horse" win over Carrie U's "Just A Dream" last year in country vocal? Are you serious? It'll be intersting if Britney can score a nod in Best Dance Recording. She was able to get one for "Womanizer." I'd like to see if "Till The World Ends" can make the cut.

Britney is a shoo-in for a dance nod IMHO. Rihanna will get Best Pop Solo Vocal and Best Dance Recording. Taylor's already getting the country nods but probably won't win pop this time. I hope they don't make the mistake with her like they did with U2's album, nominating her for AOTY a full year after their album came out.

I'm already seeing the headline of ADELE having the most nods:

Album of the Year ("21")

Record of the Year ("Rolling in the Deep")

Song of the Year (either "Rolling" or "Someone Like You")

Best Pop Vocal Album (it's a possibility, for "21")

Best Pop Solo Performance (either "Rolling" or "Someone")

Best Alternative Album (only reason I added this is because the album has alternative rock elements and the Grammys probably would add it in but I'm not sure so don't quote me on that, they might not even consider her for it)

"21" could get Rick Rubin a nod for Best Producer of the Year, non-classical. It may also get some engineering nods. And Adele might have a music video nod for "Rolling" (I definitely see it since MTV nominated her for Video of the Year though the video itself was confusing lol ).

Gaga could still get more though if they nominate her for AOTY and ROTY but I'm seeing these nods for her:

Best Pop Vocal Album ("Born This Way")

Best Pop Solo Performance (I'm not clear what song since the ones she submitted don't sound like they would easily net her a nod)

Best Dance Recording ("Born This Way")

(Not sure about Best Dance/Electronica Album because there seems to be a good mixture of dance, pop and ballads so she might not get it this time)

She's almost a shoo-in for any music video nod

So technically she MIGHT have the most "nods".

As for Beyonce:

Best Pop Solo Vocal Performance (possibly but still uncertain but if so it'll be for "Girls")

Best R&B Performance (shoo-in, possibly for "Best Thing I Never Had")

Best R&B Album ("4")

Best R&B Song ("Best Thing I Never Had")

That's the ONLY real nods I see for Ms. Knowles.

Just running it down. These three are the biggest pop stars of the moment anyway but just running it down on how NARAS would probably nominate them. It's still a possibility for Gaga to get AOTY and ROTY nods for "Born This Way" so we shall see but then again who knows how these things actually work. The submissions give you a good idea on how they're done though.

* LATE PASS NEEDED: eek I didn't know Rick Rubin produced Adele's album? Good for him. Wow has he grown since, LL's Radio! lol

She's getting a Rap/Sung collaboration with Andre 3000 for "Party" and my spider-sense tells me the R&B vocal will be for "Love on Top" instead.

Knowing as he produced some albums this year I can see it. smile But yeah he was one of the co-producers.

Wow...I have YET to hear or read anybody say they don't like this woman voice...LOL...Can it be that Er'body is in agreement that Adele is "The Voice"? I'm deff gonna check her out on YouTube...I think the main reason i have "slept" on her radio-singles is that I havent listened to Pop/Rock radio in months...With my schedule I try to listen to "The Steve Harvey Show" and mainly AM-Liberal-Talk radio in the afternoons....I try to listen to it ALL while I'm in the car but i havent for a while now...

If she doesnt win any grammys its going to show just how full of shit politics the grammys really are... I dont care really but based on her sale numbers, radio air play, etc... she has the stats to at least win up to 6-8 grammy awards this year alone... out of the gene pool she has had the best year by far in all categories... its no excuse why she shouldnt sweep. And I am rooting for her... I might even peek at the grammys this year just for her and I vowed to NEVER ever watch it again after the MJ tributes but her success is like a fairytale story and she exactly deserves everything she is getting which a rarity.

You didnt like the MJ tribute-segment? I thought Celine & Jenn did a good job...Celine just wanted show off them Legs...LOL...I can't even remember who else was on stage...

The "Aretha tribute" was on-point...That's how you open an Awards show...Who did you want to sing in Tribute to The King of Pop?

Uh...NO. And she won't get a nod in the Best R&B Duo/Group thing either so you can forget it. She didn't have a duo with an R&B performer of any sort in a while so I can't see it honestly.

I really hope she gets nothing because she doesnt deserve to win anything but then again when has Beyonce won something she exactly deserved? oopps I said to much.. fuck it.

She didnt have a good year commercially at all for sales and airplay wise. If she does win anything its politics like it usually is everytime and anytime she wins something. I wish they just let that go and just allow real talent to shine for a change. There are other artists that have a chance of beating her in the r&b nods but knowing the grammys they might just give it to her for ratings like they ALWAYS do.

I could understand people spouting this crap if she had won ''Album of the Year'' all the time, but a lot of her awards are for vocals so why doesn't she deserve those?

Anyway, Adele will win the most and GaGa will be behind her probably.

Terrib3Towel - If she buys them why doesn't she buy the Album of the Year one at least once? People are so nasty.

Do you honestly believe Beyonce deserves all 16 of her grammys??????.

There have been plenty of women in this past decade in R&b categories that were more deserving. Personally, I dont think Beyonce has created any material worthy to have any grammys but based on how the industry operates today, they have to give it to someone so I understand why in the past they would give the pop nods to her which is self explanitory. HOWEVER, the grammys have GIVEN her awards and all her awards in GENERAL have not beed earned but soley based on her popularity,

The industry operates on popularity not who is making authentic music. I can name drop alot of r&b singers that have came out with an album more worthy to have nods and win.. Jill Scott, Marsha...etc but me and you both know that shit aint happening..

Beyonce is just overrated and I am frankly tired of.. I think more deserving artists should get more love thats all Im saying

She's actually won 10 on her own as a solo artist, four as a songwriter and the other 2 were with Destiny's Child and 14 on her name alone.

Here's the ones she's won with her name alone:

"Say My Name" (Best R&B Song, something she shared with the other DC members including Kelly, Letoya and LaTavia and Rodney Jerkins and his team)

"Crazy in Love" with Jay-Z (Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collabo)

"Dangerously in Love 2" (Best Female R&B Vocal Performance)

"Dangerously in Love" (Best Contemporary R&B Album)

"The Closer I Get to You" with Luther (Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group; and I argue that one was a sympathy vote for Luther since he was sick)

"So Amazing" with Stevie (Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group; again a sympathy vote, this one AFTER Luther dies)

"B'Day" (Best Contemporary R&B Album)

"Single Ladies" (Best R&B Song, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Song of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance; I didn't agree with it winning Song of the Year, was a better contender at ROTY but lost anyways)

"At Last" (Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance, now I argue that one was bought perhaps lol)

"I Am...Sasha Fierce" (Best Contemporary R&B Album)

----

What the new Grammy rules could do is make it harder for Beyonce to win anything even R&B awards.

To be honest...lol thats not the main reason why I made that statement. I made that statement because since MJ has passed their is no point for me to watch award shows since I dont like none of the music that is out.. I always tuned in ancipating to see Michael or hoping he would appear BUT to answer your question... OVERALL, I thought the MJ tributes were tacky. The only descent one I thought was key word descent was the Chris Brown BET performance... I dont like the boy but gotta give credit where it is dued.

It would have been nice for maybe The Jacksons do a song or more older artists that exactly connected and spent time with Michael for example, Diana Ross, Boys II Men, Heavy D, just a much more interesting different line up... not just picking artists that are out now... The tributes could have been more thought out and creative... its MICHAEL JACKSON for crying out load how you gonna half ass a King. lol

Like I don't mind it because at least they're "active", probably not fully lol. It does humor me though. I'm guessing this is another way to hustle. Even if you don't know how to write a song by yourself, either collaborate or participate just for monetary gain lol

HAHAHAHA how she win FOUR GRAMMYS for songwriting???

LOL What song did she write by herself?

What a damn joke lol

I wouldnt mine Beyonce if she wasnt so overrated and constantly getting prestigeous recognition when she doesnt deserve it. Its unfair to artists who make much better music.

So the grammys are changing their rules for the future? They really should because this is ridiculous.

Yeah next year, only 78 nods will be used during the broadcast (the same ones that are televised won't change). Having the pop and R&B performance categories no longer gender specific will make it difficult for Beyonce but maybe in pop it wouldn't matter since most of them would probably go to the female artists lol

I really wish they would change other things as well like for instance incorporating more artists that are not mainstream because technically since we are talking about Beyonce.. while her album hasnt done well commercially, I still consider it to be pop as well as her. I dont view her as an r&b singer someone like Jill Scott who exactly came out with a real r&b album. I think they should really get specific on the catagories and technical in categorizes the artists for nominations. That way the same artists wont be nominated for everything when they dont deserve to be...

It just seems like the grammys puts these same artists in certain categories because they feel dont have a choice to..

^ Your last statement hits the nail on the head. I think the only reason they don't put her in pop categories because they feel she's supposed to be major or something. I don't know if they really think she represents R&B in the truest sense or not.

Thanks Timmy. You confirmed what I always thought about her nods and wins. She always win Best R&B Album regardless of its merits. I swear it seems mandatory at this point. I hate to sound like a broken record record, but her and John Mayer (I call Grammy darlings) always get nods and wins they don't deserve.

When Beyonce can deliver a decent performance without doing 1000 runs and riffs, screaming, dressing like slut, or shaking her ass mabye just MAYBE she'll be worthy of a Grammy nod. Until then she doesn't deserve jack shit. evillol

Beyonce is the most popular "R&B" artist of the last decade. Does that mean she deserved those awards? Does that mean she bought them? Does that make her talented?

not necessarily is my answer to all of those questions. Put those awards in context and many won't seem that outrageous for her to win considering her hype.

Let's just remember how much these awards don't mean.

A better pic/gif for this would involve Homer throwing the Grammy down and then having the Grammy thrown back at him. lol
