Sonic Youth

Any Sonic Youth fans here? I was digging thru my collection and I found a couple of their CDs.
They have so many awesome songs like
my friend Goo, Catholic Block, Pantyline, Shadow of a doubt, starpower, kissability etc.
Probably the most successful act of that whole no-wave scene...

I love the Youth, great wizards of noise! Their latest, 'Murray St.', is excellent.
Other bands that I dig in this scene:
Pavement (R.I.P.)
Yo La Tengo
Hüsker Dü (R.I.P.)
Preston School Of Industry
many others...

'Daydream Nation' had a HUGE impact on me when I was about 17 - 'the Sprawl' still puts me in a lovely trance

'Goo' and especially 'Dirty' had some really cool songs, good hooks and actually pretty listenable

after those records, however, the racket is just fucking insane

Yeah you gotta love the 'Youth. I really enjoyed Murray Street, really mellow and summery and a nice return to actual songs. The only downside is when they pass off white noise and randomness as experimentation.
