Before the allegations, people knew MJ was doing his thing and still popular. Though Janet was a popular name during the janet. era I didn't know anything about her, just heard her name in passing in 94 and 95 or something like that but didn't know material yet until Scream and then getting into more work since, unless I heard it and didn't realize.

I don't think popular is the right word choice, his popularity never faded though his reputation may have.

if you didnt know anything about janet until scream, um ok, but janet wasnt just a 'popular name' during the janet. era, she was huge and her success in the 90's eclisped even her brother. im from the us so before everybody start talking about how nobody knew janet overseas, im talking about here in america.his popularity took a big hit with his changing appearence and it was completely damaged with the allegations. i know its hard for some fans to be unbiased and honest when it comes to certain things about mj but you cant argue facts. i also dont believe you when you say you never heard of janet or none of her music until 94/95.

I don't believe it either, but I Knew michael and jermaine. My hypothesis is I must have heard her on the radio with others and just forgot, plus I was in like elementary school or something around that time. I do remember loving Again when it was on the radio in 95 and learning around Scream time that it was Janet smile And I saw her for a few minutes in the poetic justice commericals and in a little blurb defending michael in 94' in the paper, and later on in a home video of my cousin's b'day party, If was playing and I saw her mom owned Control on LP!!! I am a huge fan though, I'm just saying that though I liked michael from afar that time, I knew some of his music, I didn't know janet's yet, I just got unlucky. I always heard about MJ or Madonna or Prince, but Janet is so underrated....

I had tape or two full of music videos that I watched from the 80's to a very long time in the 90's that belonged to family, mostly with songs from the first half of the 80's, that's how the grease head got in lol mj was on there, but just a little bit, I'm sure his vids were always on that no one had to tape every single one though I wish they did lol even in the 90's and the actual 90's music that was new, I only heard through other people cause my interests and tastes were elsewhere at the time until late elementary/early middle school in the mid 90's when I was starting to keep up with what was current, though knowing older music too.

Just watched and i thought it was great, a little too much Mikey at the beginning but overall really good. damn i need to get som Janet, i have not listened to any of her albums since Janet eek i can't see prince contributing as much as janet did to the docu next week. cool

There is always going to be a little too much MJ/Jackson 5 in any documentary about Janet. Don't forget her child-hood fame came from being the little sister of the Jackson 5, infact that's how she started her career initially. And no matter what anyone says the Jackson name did open the doors for her. However, I do believe she came into her own with her own style and hard-work.

I don't know, I didn't think her MTV Rockumentaries back in the day had too much MJ in them. This one, although I really liked it, definitely did have a lot more than the Rockumentaries. I've noticed that since he died everything about Janet always manages to involve way more Michael than is really necessary. Like a year or so ago when I searched for something of hers on iTunes and a bunch of MJ albums came up! I mean, damn, I love the guy, but when I want it to be about Janet I want it to be about JANET! nod

And I see all of your creations as one perfect complex
No one less beautiful
Or more special than the next

RIGHT!! This is the list that leaked before the album came out!

I'm kinda "iffy" on this being a legit list because the titles don't sound "album material" (If you know what I mean). The 3 I bolded are the only ones that look like they're legit records while the rest looks like a fan just picked the names.

I do think it's strange that they put "Speed it Up" on there. Wasn't that an outtake from DJ or did they rework it?

I really need to hear some Janet demos. I wanna hear some unfinished music but her records are already prepped for her.

Yeah I'm convinced it's fake. I still wanna hear outtakes from the sessions though. Hell, I'm sure Janet is sitting of some nice ass outtakes from her album sessions. I would love an HQ version of "Work" from RN

I'd love to hear some never-before heard outtakes as well. Youtube has several "Janet" demos that were supposedly sent to her, with a chick singing in a vocal similar to Janet, but it's not actually her.

I've come across "those" type of demos, but I'm talking more along the lines of how MJ (not trying to make him a discussion in here) demos like his "Billie Jean" "Wanna Be Startin Somethin" you know, really rough and incomplete records like that. I'm sure they exist but Janets records are pretty much already written for her

lol Let me rephrase

Janet DOES help write her songs, but I don't think she has unfinished demos.
