Fit for a Queen...plus is she gonna be surprise appearance in the SPARKLE re-make

FIT FOR A QUEEN: The female artist with the most Hot 100 visits makes her own chart headlines.

Aretha Franklin notches her first entry on Adult R&B since 2007, as the aptly titled "How Long I've Been Waiting" debuts at No. 35. The song appears on her self-released 38th studio set, "A Woman Falling Out of Love," which began at No. 15 on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in May.

The bow of "Waiting" coincides with the Queen of Soul's 50th anniversary of her first appearance in the Hot 100's top 40. Franklin rose 43-39 with "Rock-a-Bye Your Baby With a Dixie Melody" the week of Nov. 25, 1961.

Here is an updated count of the women with the most charted titles, and their career chart spans, in the Hot 100's 53-year history:

73, Aretha Franklin, 1961-98
56, Dionne Warwick, 1962-98
55, Madonna, 1983-2009
53, Connie Francis, 1958-69
48, Brenda Lee, 1959-73
44, Mariah Carey, 1990-2011
42, Taylor Swift, 2006-11
41, Barbra Streisand, 1964-97
40, Diana Ross, 1970-86
39, Mary J. Blige, 1992-2010
39, Whitney Houston, 1984-2009
39, Janet Jackson, 1982-2008

re: SPARKLE

check out the Whitney Houston interview on ET

Who is the big surprise? Well we cannot say for sure, but we found it very odd and random that AJ brought up lady Aretha Franklin; in which who was also a part of the original Sparkle's soundtrack. Whitney's reaction to the name Aretha Franklin seem to genuinely shift her mindset and take her slightly off guard, which seemed to indicate a possible appearance by her real-life Godmother. It would be a treat to see these two souful divas in a duet.

Lonnette Mckee, who played the juicy role of Sista in the original Sparkle in 1976, may also be a surprise addition to the new revamped installment of Sparkle, being she has in recent days been on the set of the film. Since both Aretha and Lonette reside in Detroit where Sparkle is being filmed, it is not out of the realm to speculate an appearance by both of these Icons.
