Drake's New Album: Hip Hop's "Thriller".

Yeah I said it. But if Drake, who garners a lot of criticism, can come out with an album THIS good, an album I think will last, then what's a little hyperbole between orgers?

It really reminds me of the under-rated classic "Pleasures You Like" by Jon B, who is featured on here. Hopefully a comeback is in the making for him, and a long long stay on the charts for Drake.

You kidding?

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is much better than this album.

As is Fela Soul.

And Illmatic? Paid In Full? The Chronic? All those other classics?

Nah, I think it probably happened already years ago, and Kanye makes brilliant albums, I agree My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is great. I know a lot of people don't like 808's and Heartbreak, but I feel that it inspired Drake's first album a great deal.

What i find unbelievable is a co worker who is 48 and brags on this cd. He said he isn't

into current rap either but he found this to be good in his opinion. I've heard one song

from this album and wasn't impressed. I actually made the same face this chick is making. lol

My co worker asked me if i wanted a copy and i told him i just don't think i can stomach it.

No thanks.

I know My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is a BETTER album, but it's much too unconventional to be compared to Thriller.

Take Care is spotlessly produced and has songs that I think will excite a huge swath of people. It's smooth and glitzy. It's a perfect pop/hip-hop hybrid. His subject matter might be limited (Hos, success and himself). Whereas Kanye seems to have an unlimited subject matter. Is he, along with Lupe and Cole, the only ones in hip hop who reads? But who knew hos and the ugly side of success could be so interesting? Take Care is a huge step up for Drake, and if there's any justice it'll be an across the board smash.

The unconventionalness of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is exactly why it has more of a chance of being compared to Thriller than Take Care.

I really like Drake's album and this is coming from someone who couldn't stand him at one point. But no where near Kanye's album though.

We all know Kanye's album is one of hip hops best, EVER, but it's unconventional-ness makes it no Thriller. The "people" will hate it for just that. So while Drake plays right to the people, no matter how drippy or familiar, I never see kanye playing that game. He's too...cantankerous? Needless to say they're polar opposites.

Kanye could probably look at a salt shaker on the table and make a humorous rap about how the government and the insurance companies are in cahoots to raise our blood pressure. Drake would turn it into a love song.

I got 4 songs into this album and I had to turn it off because I was so bored.

Give me Odd Future any day over this boring ass shit. Hell, I'd rather even listen to Waka than Drake.

Ok let me just drop in to say something about this: why must people always want to compare something to Thriller? Haven't we had enough and hasn't this been discussed before? The success, music and impact of Thriller is among one of pop history's grandest achievements and it will never be replicated, replaced or duplicated any time soon. Can we move on and start just living for right now?

Whew...and on a personal note, Drake SUCKS! There I said it. It is what it is! lol
