Maybe that explains why he smoked pot daily and popped pills. With some entertainers, it's usually when something gets tiresome that they resort to whatever vice they feel comfortable with until it takes over their lives.

I don't know lol like I said can anyone function with strong weed? Like what if his weed had a little something extra to it and that's why he failed to do anything productive except for two albums in the last few years? There's a certain danger in anything to "elevate" you. I know there's weed that can help you health wise but it's not really the "harmless" drug as it seems to be.

*That* is not always true... as any other drug, it will effect people differently. It's also not the same as it was even a few decades ago. I've known some people who apparently smoke it almost every day and if I didn't smell it on them myself I wouldn't have known it but then I've seen others that are just a ghost of themselves when they do even a small amount of a stronger variety. I know one 17yo that ended up in the mental hospital after one joint.

GM has always been pretty frank about his habits and he could certainly afford stronger weed if he wanted. If he says he had to lay down to sing or else he'd fall over... I tend to take it at face value.

Well, his lover died, then his mother, and he had that big fight with Sony all in the early 90's. I imagine that it initially relieved the depression/stress and then just became a constant thing for him...
