Some of Beyonce's fans make it impossible.

It depends on the artist and the fan base I guess.

Not one particular artist, but for some reason hipsters really turn me off of typical hipster music. I have some MGMT songs liked on my Pandora station, and after I found out they were hipster darlings, I felt kind of dirty listening to them. It's so irrational and limiting -- I can't even listen much to the local "hipster" radio station, even though they DO play a decent amount of good music. I'm getting a little more tolerant now that I've moved out of the hipster-saturated area of my city. I'll work myself up to being open-minded again, I swear.

As far as MJ fans, they can be pretty terrifying. They never turned me off of his music, but I remember when I was younger deciding that I would NEVER go to one of his concerts for fear that some lunatic would faint or throw up on me or something. Later I did hear that a lot of the people you saw fainting were at concerts in countries with more lax regulations where they would pack the stadiums way beyond capacity. Thus, a lot of those people were actually passing out from lack of oxygen. I still don't know if that's true, but god damn would I be pissed if I were one of those people and I ended up in some video looking like a crazy fan.

Also, has anybody ever figured out how that dude on the cherry picker got up there? He just appears out of nowhere.

Crazy ass Prince fans for sure! I love Prince but he's not my everything. I have other artists who are higher up on my list than he is. Bottom line is that I don't "marry" the artist; if I like an album I buy it, but if it sucks it sucks and I will not defend that artist. I do not get obsessed with people period.

mj fans are the only ones i've run across who i believe are really bat shit crazy. most of those others,especially the newer, younger artists fans act the way they act for the internet. as a long time janet fan i dont know many fans who ever said she was bigger than madonna, better yes, but not bigger.just like prince fans know hes not bigger than mj but they think he's a better artist and its nothing wrong with that.

And some of Gaga's Little Monsters too.... some of them are annoying, but I also know a lot of nice monsters.

There are some Prince fans who act as if he invented music They act like he's the only musician in the world who has talent. I'm a huge fan but I don't worship him.

Prince fans.. They act as if he is the only artist that makes authentic music and that EVERYTHING he has made is authentic and they are quick to tell you the number of all instruments he plays

As for the artists out now Beyonce, Gaga, Bieber etc... their fan bases are pretty young and really dont know no better overall about the music industry which is why they have laughable arguements which are not even worth combating. So most of their attacks are personal... childish. Well most of them are children, teens people in their 20's so it is to be expected... Its all fluff talk.

I doubt any of them would cause bodily harm to themself, kill themself, go into depression or camp outside someones hotel for weeks like alot of MJ fans would... yes they take the cake...

I like and listen to a lot of music (maybe not particular musicians so much though, because I'm not always into everyone's discography). I don't really mention them here, because it's not really the demographic of the forum.

It's just that some vocalists sound like shit so it's hard to listen to them.

I never knew Prince had such loony fans until I joined the org. Folks writing using "u, 2, r, 4, eye" and talking all that riddled bullshit like he talks. Also thinking every single thing he ever made is great and acting as if he has no faults whatsoever. And my personal favorite, the ones that get highly insulted and defend him to the very end if someone thinks he's gay. It's fun to rattle those blind sheep's cages sometimes. I never wanted to ditch Prince because of the loony fans but I find myself being harder on him than I should be trying to not be one of the loony toons.

Michael Jackson has some of the looniest fans of all time though. Even loonier than Elvis fans and that's really saying something because Elvis has some loony ass fans.

Hell, simply liking her music alone is reason enough for a straightjacket, let alone defending it.

I've never like Beyonce's music, but her fans are fucking delusional. Claiming that she's sold 75 million records, where the hell do they come up with these numbers? And they just can't stand that "4" is flopping like a fish out of water, and her singles aren't doing good either. Yet they think she's the queen. Yeah I really don't get that either. But I honestly don't get these nicknames anyway. Fans is just fans. I hate nicknames.
