Do you like your bands, artist young or older? What phases of your favorite musicians you like more?the early days or latter years?. Many artist aren't develouped at the early stages of their careers but somehow i'm always for the youthness and a bit of naive in my favorite artists.
I feel that at the beginning artist do their craft more from the hear ,less proffesional, more raw and gritty. At their latter career they get into comfort zone, more proffesional, more defined, but more safe with less suprises. examples of the artis who were the best in their youth: Bruce Springsteen Eric Clapton Prince Led Zeppelin ...
one rare example of artists soundid always great are Duran Duran

As long as I like the music, I don't care if the artist was 99 years old tbqh.

With the artists that I like, it doesn't matter. "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

In most cases I find that the first ten years or so are the best. There are exceptions but not many musicians make better music in their second decade than they did in their first.

I generally prefer veteran acts with a lot of albums behind, that allows me to analize her/his/their full career, enjoying both the masterpieces and the turds, watching the whole picture, which is pleasant, very pleasant...
I have a norm: I don't care for young/current acts/bands; why? I don't wanna feel cheated, I'm tired of promissing bands/artists that only last two or three albums, leaving a bitter, empty taste in my mouth...Adele, for example, could be the next Alanis M for all I know...

They always seem more genuine and down to earth when they first start out. Before they get destroyed by the madness. You can usually tell when someone's "made it." The phoniness kicks in.

Twenty-five points in your favour for using the phrase "it matters not a jot."

Oasis let me down, Suede let me down, The Spice Girls let me down, Amy let me down, LCD Soundsystem let me down, and likely Roisin Murph will let me down...
you just can't trust young folks these days, their careers are not meant to last...

I perfer them younger, mostly because if I wanted to see them live, they could actually perform instead of falling asleep. Album wise I could care less.

There's always Cheap Trick. They have been going strong for about thirty-five years now.
