Can you name a group that...

Hello to all!!

This question crossed my mind when I was washing dishes, listening to nsync station on pandora (reliving my childhood) smile .

Can anybody name a group that a member HAS NOT gone solo?

I could not think of any!!

Thanks to those to answer! biggrin

The Boys

Color Me Badd

Another Bad Creation

Nice & Smooth

R.E.M. (although Stipe did record a one-off song for Katrina, so that may not count)

Kevin Thornton released a gospel album years ago.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I don't think anyone in the Four Tops has, unless you count Little Shop Of Horrors. razz Bono has done a few songs like the remake of Marvin Gaye's Save The Children. But he hasn't actually gone solo.

What about the Bar-Kays?

Thank goodness I havet heard it on 97.9. They seem more like Another Bad Creation 20 years later than a B2K clone. Them high school chicks was all over B2K.

Huey Lewis & The News

Expose'

The Pips (They released a couple of albums without Gladys, but I'm not aware of anything from the individual members.)

TKA (Latin freestyle group)

The Archies razz

Very true, but he has done lots of solo side gigs. So has The Edge.

They have, but Walter and Scotty did a duo project in the 90s.

Here's one of my favorite trax from that album.

While the OP didn't state any particulars as to they meant, I believe that if there is no solo or duo album that is readily available for purchase, the examples presented should count. One off songs that are available on soundtracks or other media that we have to dig for to find should not count.

Mint Condition (for the record though Stokely has done a few "solo" tracks, he never went fully out like that)

U2 somehow managed to keep going without Bono releasing a solo album - and that's a miracle considering his ego but I guess his ego is not towards the band as much as it is with the public eye. Like Stokely, there's a few times he's been solo but he can't work solo the way Mick Jagger does.

Def Leppard never had a single member doing a solo album. Side projects don't count.

Maze of course

REM until recently but I don't know if Michael Stipe is even interested in a solo career anyways.

----

Can't think of anymore.

I forgot about Maze.

However BIIM did have Shawn Stockman doing a solo project. See above.

I forgot about Metallica.

Same with the original Four Tops. Only thing that separated the originals was death.

Robin Duhe (bass) and Michael White (drums) released solo work. cool

And although the following 2 examples are not solo-projects:

- Earlier drummer Ahaguna Sun was part of the duo-group Sunbear on the pre-Solar label, Soul Train Records.

Sunbear is still active as Big Advice

- Guitarist Ron Smith and drummer Michael White recorded albums as part of the jazz-quartet Rhythm Logic.
