Teddy's Jam 1, 2, or 3? Which do you prefer? As I've been revisiting a lot of Heavy D's stuff lately, I was reminded of this gem. I think the sequel actually kicks the first ones ass but that's just me. What say you?

Part 1 gets my vote...
"Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Part 2 but I only like the beginning. I feel like the song loses steam after the first 1:30. Part 1 sounds too dated and lacks the energy of the beginning of part 2.

part 2 is a bastardization "Climb in my fur."

Part 1 for sure. I like it better than the other 2 versions. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Hmm...
What's dated to you about it? The instrumentation or the song itself? To me, part 2 sounds more dated than part 1. Part 1 has stood the test of time. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Fixed! Thanks. I never heard this one before. As a matter of fact, I can't recall any singles from III. I guess I got off the Guy train after "The Future."
Teddy's Jam III might as well be a remake of Roger's joint.
I know TJ 2 has George's "Atomic Dog" sample underneath but Teddy did a better job of making it his own with this one. I like TJ2's energy, Aaron, and Teddy's synth solos are hotter to me.
The original TJ is classic and the groove is original but it sounds cute to me now for some reason. And I don't like my funk cute.

#2 had more of a funk edge. #1 is definitely nostalgic. #3 was a cover of Roger's "Dance Floor" lol

Shoot anyone on sight who chooses 2 or 3. They are probably republicans as well no doubt. Or commies. "Climb in my fur."

Why you gotta be like that especially bringing up politricks.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
because its akin to a sin to think 2 or 3 are better ..and republicans are all hell bound "Climb in my fur."

I heard that Teddy's Jam 2 calls Teddy's Jam his bitch. And hell naw I ain't no republican and I'm damn sure ain't Stalin.

Politricks are hell bound so fuck that analogy!

Teddy's Jam 2 is basically a remake of George Clinton's Atomic Dog.

So you like III better huh?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I haven't heard neither the original or 2 in a while and I'm over here trippin on how cute the first one sounds to me now. I still think its cool. Back in what? '88, '89 you couldn't tell me that the first one wasn't dope, I was on the dancefloor like everybody else. It's funny how your taste change as you grow older.

Back when I was a kid, I preferred the original myself but I grew up and listened to Teddy's Jam 2 and 3 and thought "wow, they're better" lol
