November 11, 2011
Katy Perry has announced that she has added a second show at Los Angeles' Staples Center, but the show will be free.
Set to take place on Nov. 23, one day after her sold-out show at the same venue, the free show was to give thanks to the fans for their support throughout the year. Dubbed Katy Perry Gives Thanks, the show wraps up Perry's 122-date California Dreams trek.
"I am giving thanks to all of my fans," said Perry on the show. "This is my big announcement on Ellen that no one has heard about or knows about. I played 121 shows up in to the 23rd date, and I want to finish it off by renting out Staples myself and giving a free concert to anyone in the world that wants to come to the California Dreams Tour as my last show."
Thus far this year, Perry has been nominated for four Grammy Awards, had five No. 1 singles and took home an MTV VMA for video of the year. She is nominated for three American Music Awards and has seven Peoples Choice noms.

I dig Katy Perry and I think it's great that she's doing this....however, I have seen a couple of her live performances and she definitely needs to learn how to regulate her voice a lot more. She has a big voice but she can't control it. Not sure I would like to see her live “The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.”

She doesn't have a big voice. Her voice is shit. She has a great body and a butterface. That is it.

She's always very lousy on TV performances, but I saw her in MN and she sounded pretty great. Either way, I think it's a cool idea. 2012: The Queen Returns
