US Charts: Justin Bieber Makes History & Rihanna Ties Beyonce

Rihanna made history last week when her ‘We Found Love’ single topped the Billboard Hot 100 and this week it was Justin Bieber’s chance to leave his name in the record books. The latter’s ‘Under the Mistletoe’ entered the the Billboard 200 and became the 1st Holiday release by a male solo act to debut at #1 on the tally.

‘Under the Mistletoe’ has sold 210K in its first week of availability. Bieber not only became the 1st male solo act to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 with a Christmas-themed set but he was only the 8th artist in history to climb to the chart summit with such a collection.

Elsewhere, on the Hot 100, Rihanna continued to dominate her peers with ‘We Found Love’ for a 2nd week. In fact, the tune has brought the Pop star’s cumulative weeks at the top of the roundup to a stunning 36 weeks, therefore tying her with Beyonce. However, the latter achieved that feat with only 5 #1 songs.

Of course, Mariah Carey’s total number of weeks from her 18 #1 songs far outweighs her younger peers. Indeed, the diva has landed an awesome 79 weeks at the top – more than any other artist in history as well as more than Rihanna and Beyonce’s totals combined.

See the leading Urban/Pop releases from the top 10 of both Billboard 200 and the Hot 100 below:

Sorry, but the most disturning thing here is that flo rida. Is still making top 10 hits eek his songs are literally the same shit, say what you will about the other artists. But his crap is all the same type of song & beat!, his albums don't sell squat either. His last album went to like 192! Yet he still makes top 10 hits..... lawd

It's shockingly low, isn't it? It actually gives me hope for the world.

I haven't heard any of those songs atop the Billboard Charts, nor do I have any intention to. And I agree, 210k is weak as hell. And LOL at Tyrese's 76k.

Yeah, considering his fanbase, his next studio release will probably sell like hotcakes. That is if he ain't the Pappy! lol (I kid, I kid).

How can people ever take charts seriously when LMFAO - a self-admitted "joke band" - have two spots in the top 10 of billboard 100?

Step away from the charts.
