Dam-Funk I'm just curious to see how many of you have heard of this guy and actually dig him. I find his story intriguing being "discovered" so late in his musical progressions as an artist, especially with this counter culture going on amongst my generation (I’m 22); the same people that persecuted me for liking vinyl and funk music, let alone Prince...oy vey. His albums aren't even new material, but a collection of demos he's had laying around since the late 80s. I've seen him perform live twice and he definitely is the genuine article, knows his music history, respects the forefathers, as well as just being a genuinely nice down-to-earth person.
So, do you dig 'em...just wondering about your opinions. Once upon a time...I gave a f***!

Dam Funk is actually a member of the org. He posts his new music regularly here.
I like his vibe. But sometimes, i mean a lot of times it sounds messy. He is obviously not a real good key player. But i like that 80s sound.

One of my favorite new artists from the 2000's.
The spacey / funky r&b cuts he has came out with still are in heavy rotation on my ipod and I own all of his released music. I looked for a very long time for someone who actually dives deep in this sound through a whole album and he really is the only one I know. Thanks to Cinnie Cee for the recommendation. I see so many people talk about wanting the funk and nothing but the funk these days but dont say too much when it comes down to Dam Funk...thats fucked up imo. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Yeah, I really like Dam Funk. Discovered him completely by chance wandering around the itunes store.
Toeachizown is great ("Come on Outside" is probably my favorite track) and Adoloscent Funk has great tracks as well. The total 80s synth productions are pretty entertaining.
He can be a bit all over the place, but overall I really enjoy his work.
