what if for madonna's next tour.... of course she'll do 10 new songs from the fucking new album 7 of which most of us won't want to hear.
but for the oldies but goodies, half the show (at least it felt like about S&S was) - what would happen if she went the complete OPPOSITE direction of her previous tours and did STRAIGHTFORWARD VERSIONS OF THE TUNES WITH ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY AND SIMILAR COSTUMES FROM THE VIDEO(S), A LA MJ AND JANET?
Can you imagine her busting out the old hop jump and turn from Lucky Star or the o.g. Express Yourself dance at the top of the stairs, the original Vogue choreography, Dont Tell Me, Nothing Really Matters, Open Your Heart with the chair et al? Original arrangements with live musicians? I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

^ I can see her doing it. The real question is will she?

I think she should. Sticky and Sweet was disappointing when she redid the older tracks and not in a good way.

The day M repeats herself is the day I lose a bit of respect for her....I don't like these old acts that keep trotting out their past glories. As much as I'd quite like to see the old stuff done in the old way, that just wouldn't be Madonna.
And I quite like some of the remixes she did during the S&S Tour, especially during the 2009 leg. The Frozen remix and Like A Prayer remixes were great dance versions I thought and really got the crowd moving. www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Here's what I'd like to see Madonna do on the next tour...
***Put together a funky band---I'm talking horn players,a funky bassist,a ferocious drummer like Omar on the Girlie Show, three talented background vocalists.....make these songs sizzle! I'm tired of techno-ized "reworkings" of her old songs.Hearing that funky bassline on "Dance 2Night" makes me realize that this is the direction Madonna should go in.I want her to go for a real,band-oriented sound with hardly any pre-recorded sounds at all.A song like "Express Yourself" should be transformed into a funk rave-up.Ditto for "Like A Prayer","Physical Attraction" and others.
***Do the show in the round---It's something she's never done before and I think it would be a nice change of pace.No matter where your seats are,you would have a great view. The fans would love that.
***Get rid of Jamie King---It has been rumored that he won't be a part of the new tour and that's a good thing. She needs to work with others to come up with a new, exciting way to present her music.I suggested that she perform the show in the round but there are many other new things she could do.
***Liven up the setlist---Let's bring out some stuff that hasn't been performed in years...."Causing A Commotion","Angel","Dress You Up",the aforementioned "Physical Attraction".

I hope it's true about Jamie too.

I actually like Jamie and the amazing work he did on the previous tours, but I think it's time for a change.

You can only do the same ole same ole until it gets tiresome.

Nope, this is not a good idea
Come on...you know darn well that Madonna will get heavily criticized if she attempted to do a tour like this.Critics would label it "Madonna's 80s Rewind Tour",lol. My idea is better: re-invent the songs but this time,in a funky style

YES.
I do hope she comes up with a new director, and in the roucd sounds really killer. I'm sure whatever she does I'll eat up. 2012: The Queen Returns

Some good things u said here.
I agree, I will lost a bit of respect for her if she will repeat herself. I mean it's Madonna who we are talking about. She should reinvent herself. I'm glad that Jamie King isn't the director of the tour. I'm hoping on a epic , new and great tour.

I agree with all of SoulAlive's ideas as well. I would like it if she did the songs closer to their original musical arrangements. I think sometimes she tries too hard with remixes and inserting samples and it doesn't work. But she should definitely not use the same choreography or costumes as the original videos. That would be terrible. The music itself is timeless, but some of the old costumes and choreography are dated and wouldn't work now. [Edited 11/8/11 6:48am]
