Jack White presents: THE BLACK BELLES debut album

I didn't expect the album to be this good. They seemed like just a cute novelty when I heard their first single last year. After a few listens to the live stream, I bought the album on vinyl which means I REALLY like it.

edit: now that the album has been released (Nov. 8th) the live streaming link has been taken down.

At work I couldn't get the songs to play either using Firefox. So I opened the page in Safari and it worked. But now I'm at home and the songs play with Firefox here. Your web browser must be either old or missing a plugin?

I like The Dead Weather, but I'm more excited about this Black Belles album than I was when I heard The Dead Weather's debut. I won't deny their image could play a big part in that. Their sound has been described as "garage-goth". lol

I regret not downloading the video for "Honky Tonk Horror" before Jack White recalled it for the video's obvious questionable content.

Wow I never heard of this band so thanks for posting. I love me some Jack White and I trust your taste in music. So you really recommend? Overall what is this album like?

If you like Jack White then you should like this album. It has his signature production style, but with a Halloween-y twist.

The album is available for sale today at the Third Man Records website, but not anywhere else. confused

The only samples I can post here now are videos of songs from the first single last year which in my opinion are not as good as the tracks on the album (and since they were not included on the album, leads me to think Jack and the band felt the same way) so take that into consideration when listening:

What Can I Do?

Lies (Knickerbockers cover)

mad Why didn't I see this thread earlier!

I went to the store tonight looking for the album, and of course the lady working goes to the back and all she brings out is the same Steven Colbert vinyl from before.

If you will, so will I

Better late than never! I had been checking iTunes and Amazon all day yesterday with no luck. I'll wait to see if my vinyl copy comes with a free mp3 link before downloading the album from iTunes.

It's very difficult to find a physical copy outside of Third Man Records.

Great photos!

Shelby Lynne had some solo stuff did she not? Noticed her name on the video.

I was not crazy about those two songs (but read your disclaimer) but they are jsut so stylish, and you can hear Jack White throughout them. He has developed his own sound and style and it's very distinct.

You are thinking of country artist Shelby Lynne--different person.

Samples of the actual album tracks are available on iTunes now.

I would not be surprised if there was a porn star with that name, but with just a few letters transposed. lol
