Assholes who constantly talk at concerts... George Michael Dublin

Absolutely fantatic setlist last night. Many album track and interesting covers. However, the amount of drunk women who were talking non stop even thru
quiet songs, texting, back and forward to the bar, taking photos was astounding. Asked a girl in front to stop and she got sooo agressive. Is it just me or do a large amount of people see concerts as a place to get drunk and yap over the artist ?

No, it's not just you, it can't be helped, however, I think it depends on the band/artist. I have attended gigs where I feel like the only person paying the music any attention, but I have also been to gigs where there have been several hundred or (in some cases) several thousand people, and at certain points in certain songs you could hear a pin drop.

Happened to me the other week at Lenny Kravitz.

We weren't gunning for the front or anything as we were STANDING AT THE BACK where there was a great view but no pushing. But this woman had just been pushed past by someone apparently and she went on and on to her boyfriend for ages whining about this guy. LK wasn't playing a song at ths point and was talking to the crowd, but I couldn't hear a word he was saying because of this woman who wouldn't shut up.

I hate people who push in more than most, but I thoght at the back there wouldn't be any of that, and who the hell cares when you're back there anyway?

I just gave her an evil glare and she got the message biggrin I still missed Lenny's speech though.

THAT annoys me. A few drinks is fine, but people who leave the gig several times to stock up at the bar which gives them the need for toilet breaks too is infuriating.

I heard about a Madonna concert in London starting 20 minutes late a few years ago because a significant percentage of the crowd hadn't taken their seats yet as they were all drinking at the bars.

Damn these stories are never good to hear especially if you paid a good amount of money! Getting left/lost or sneaky, drunk, loud people....the thought of being too close to them has kept me away from many shows. My dad has would keep me away from Prince shows for other reasons lol. Anybody here ever get into a fight at a concert or seen some really crazy stuff?

Well, you could have went to a Beatles concert to hear a lot of screaming. lol

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

this tour should have been done in theaters

if you're gonna do a tour in stadiums/arenas, hell then you better be damn sure the music is LOUD and powerful, otherwise the garrulous, the casual "fans", and the drunk women will spoil the party for the serious fans who just wanna feel/hear the music/voice...

Hysterical! I like the Beatles but would've totally stayed away! I can't remember which rock star said they went to see them and they had a horrible time! He said all he remembers is screams from girls and the smell of urine! Who needs that! I know people pass out but I never thought about that *other* factor until he said it on VH1!

This seems to be a problem that gets worse and worse. I don't get how you would want to spend a huge amount of money, basically to stand around, drink and behave like you are in a pub. Go do that in a pub, please. It's mostly people under 35 who behave like this, I've noticed. One guy I asked to stop talking with his girlfriend and a male friend said I should learn to multitask; he could listen to the concert and talk to his friends all at once. When I pointed out this was rather rude towards people unable to multitask who paid to come and listen to a concert and not him, he became aggressive. This was, by the way, not at a quiet show, it was during Cee Loo Green, who makes quite a noise.

Totally agree...that and people who sit down for the whole show...why not just stay home and watch it on dvd instead?!

The top tier of the O2 is notoriously bad for this. We went to Tinie Tempah at the O2 on Saturday night (awesome show by the way!) and we were up on the top tier. I could sense that we were surrounded by boring old farts so two minutes before show time I legged it to the info desk and asked if they could move us down. We got well lucky and they had two wristbands for the floor that someone hadn't picked up so me and my bro had them. Got right down on the floor near the front and the atmosphere was amazing. Looked back up to the upper tier and our whole block was still sitting, despite the pounding bassline and awesome intro. Losers!

Had the same thing for the first night of Madonna's S&S tour in 2009 at the O2. Me and my sister were so psyched for the show as we went to the tour in 2008 so it was like second helpings. Lights go down, Madge comes out, we go nuts and get on our feet and some twat behind me shouts "sitdown". Ironic thing was Sky One were showing the 2008 show from Argentina on the TV that very night!! I shouted back "Why didnt you just stay at home and watch it on TV?:...he said "I paid for my seat I'm gonna sit in it"...I said "I'm sure Madge is gonna love that...we're fucking out of here"...then begged the security to move us lower down and they got us down on the floor three songs in. Turned into one of the best Madonna shows ever, we were with a load of nutty Madge fans who were dancing their asses off, including two guys that had flown in from Brazil for the show, That's the sort of fan I wanna be next to!

Honestly.....what must an artist think when they look out and see a load of people sitting down or talking??!!

I was thinking the same thing. The theme of the show is better suited for theaters neutral
