Appeals court rules in favor of CBS/Janet

A federal appeals court has ruled that the Federal Communications Commission wrongly fined Janet Jackson and CBS for a "wardrobe malfunction."

The court found that the commission did not properly inform the broadcaster about changes in indecency enforcement, and had "arbitrarily" departed from its prior policy.

The commission levied a $550,000 fine against the performer and the network after a piece of Jackson's costume came loose during the 2004 Super Bowl half-time show, briefly exposing her breast.

It was a beyond ridiculous fine anyway, and hopefully this thing can be finally laid to rest. Controversy or not, Janet tore the roof off of Reliant Stadium that night. Other than Prince, there hasn't been a hotter performance at the Super Bowl since (sorry, BEP)

Hey, there is something called poetic justice in the world afterall huh biggrin To bad she had to pay a great price for this. And I'm not talking the $500K either. Oh well, hopefully the whole thing made her a better/stronger person.

Now let's see if her brother Mike will get some justice...

That entire halftime show was a disaster, and her controversy thankfully overshadowed it.

BEP managed to do a worse one finally.

A disaster how? That Kid Rock flag incident? Janet's segment was on point, from the beginning to the end. Besides "All Nite", it's the best routine Gil has done for her.
