The Sylvers Mix....
I can't stop listening to them! Very eclectic and talented yet underrated family. They now probably are my favorite family act. A collection/tribute using some of their lesser known music (stuff outside of 'Boogie Fever', 'Hot Line', etc) a 'best of the rest'... [Edited 10/27/11 9:16am]

As some know, I'm a big fan. Though the group is known for the bubble gum pop music, I knew and feel in love with the classic R&B/Soul music the recorded.

They are seriously underrated! I agree with you on the difference of most of their music vs. their brief semi-pop period! Although it's impossible to dislike a "Boogie Fever" tune their true sound is just on another level. Alot of their stuff is so modern sounding! Its astounding they were so young at the time. ***BTW,those threads are closed but thanks for creating them.

The Sylvers were my favorite recording artists in the mid-70s, when I was 10 or 11 years old. The first concert that I ever attended was a Sylvers concert in 1976.

I try to provide links to past disscusions about the Sylvers'... for those who may have just discovered their music or saw the Unsung series.
I signed the petition connected to the video you posted, their disography is scattered between the Big 4 conglomerates. If I recall EMI own the 3 classic albums. There was a letter campaign once before, that's why Apple had the 3 classic albums for sale two years ago.

It was during the summer of 1976. My brother and I were visiting our grandparents in LA. The Sylvers did an interview on a show and mentioned that they would be performing a show at the Forum. My grandparents lived literally a few blocks from the Forum. Anyway, we got tickets to go. I can't remember who else was performing that night, except for the band Brass Construction. I know that I was very excited to see the Sylvers perform live, but honestly, since it was soooo long ago, I don't recall many details.

If I recall the Sylvers touring was kinda of spotty.... it may have helped in my ipinion to push know considered those 3 classic albums sales. I know the did a lot of concerts West of the Mississippi but East was hit and miss.
