The songs Rhythm Nation and Love will never Do are two of her best but the whole Control album beats RN.

The album is short (no filler), the album tracks are just as good as the singles...

"He Doesn't Know I'm Alive" is definitely filler. It sounds more like Dream Street-era Janet than Control.

Rhythm Nation beats Control for me.

I like Control more mainly because it takes me back to the "innocence" of my childhood, a time when music, books and television were my only escapes.

Yup and that's the main thing about that cut that I like, I'm one of the only Janet fans on here who actually like Dream Street and feel it's her most underrated album.

I love that track, with the sax and the heavily processed bassline...

Question. Does anyone have this:

[img:$uid]http://cover7.cduniverse.com/MuzeAudioArt/Large/67/781367.jpg[/img:$uid]

If so is this just a repackaging of the two original cd's including all of the original liners or is it a budget release that does not include the liners? I do not own either album and this looks like a cheap way to get them both but I would prefer to get a version that includes all of the liners.

I think what you meant to say was that too much exposure to lame '80s sax turns you into a pussy. razz

Aw, shoot, if it puts a grin on your chin that is all that matters.

In the future I shall try to keep my irrational hatred of '80s saxophone to myself. Now I better go listen to some lame Cheap Trick albums to cleanse my ears.

Agreed. Too much of any one genre is bad for the brain.

You've got all the popular tracks, but there are gems on RN, in particular, that were never released as singles. wink

"Control" was musical, while "Rhythm Nation" was more mechanical. "Control" freed a little girl. "Rhythm Nation" freed a little woman. biggrin

Both are great albums.

But the answer is Rhythm Nation 1814, still the best thing Janet's ever done.

If you like 80's sax have you heard 'Will you' by Hazel O'Connor.

Searching to find what we lost along the way.
