Man, I hope he gets better. sad I would hate to see Barry as the only sibling left. This is the same condition that killed my Grandmother. But, hopefully, in Robin's case they caught it in time.

I don't know, I have a sinking feeling Robin won't be with us any longer. sad

God, I hope you are wrong! sad Surely if they can remove the blocked/bad intestines and untwist them, he has a chance for recovery. pray

They kept saying that they had found a way to save him from his intestines but when you look at images like that, you can't help but wonder that the doctors don't know what they're doing. neutral

Unfortunately, in too many cases, they really don't...even with all the advances in medicine.

Right. If doctors really knew what to do with people with bad intestines, Robin wouldn't be looking like his blood got sucked from Dracula. neutral

sick I so feel for him. Why does it seem easier for doctors to deal with removing part of a colon, like in my Dad's case, then removing part of an intestine? My Dad survived cancer twice because of it. I just hope Robin pulls through...

We all do. I don't know whenever I read things like "Robin's son traveled from America to be near him." That can't be too good. I mean it IS great, a relative SHOULD be there to support you especially if it's your child but whenever I read about it, that means, "BAD news". sad Thankfully he can still sing though...

Well, all we can do is hope for the best. I'm glad his family is with him. Maybe that is a precaution because of what happened to Morris. Let's still pray for good news.

Hopefully. Difference between what happend with Maurice is Maurice's death happened so suddenly. I think with Robin, least the doctors didn't act like they didn't know how to fix what killed Maurice but I think the intestine problem has been slowly killing Robin. If tabloids are correct, Robin has had it for two years now. No wonder he looks gravely ill.

Just noticed I spelled Maurice's name wrong even though I've been a BeeGees fan since the 70s. I think I have the Original 7ven on the brain too much. razz But, I'm wishing the best for the Gibb family.

I just realized something: Barbara Gibb, their mother, is still alive. This has gotta be heartbreaking that yet another one of her sons is possibly deadly ill. sad

That is one of the worst things that can happen to you--surviving all or most of your children. disbelief A close friend of mine just lost her only daughter to Lupus. Just terrible. Not the same at all as losing parents, friends, or other family members. It ain't supposed to work that way. In this case, I hope it doesn't.

Me either but fate's a funny thing. I guess it's true that when it's your time to go, you go. I admire those that try to fight to stay here though but it's more tragic that way. sad

I always thought of the brothers, Robin was one of those determined ones. Like whatever came his way, he was always gonna triumphed from adversity and this is no different.

I was gonna say Barry too. He was sick for a period when the Bee Gees were still together but somehow he was able to overcome his own illnesses. But Andy and Maurice weren't able to overcome theirs and Robin's seems like a losing fight now. sad

Eddie LeVert comes to mind. Both of his sons Gerald & Sean died a year apart. It totally suck for anyone to died before their parents do. disbelief

They said that after Andy died that he had a heart ailment all his life and never knew it. I think even though Barry had been sick he is more like their mother where as robin and Maurice were twins so their genes are identical.

I have to agree with this, I thought that the Bee Gees was just a disco band, till I met a true fan and turned me on the the vast catalog that they have.

This was a response to last december post bout being one of the greatest bands.

[Edited 10/28/11 19:57pm]

Same here, I always liked them but I had no idea of how much I was missing.

They've had their share of tragedy and never did get the recognition they deserved.

I saw Robin on TV the other day and was shocked at his appearance...sad to see him suffer this way.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I had forgotten they were twins when I was reading about this. People are saying he looks bad, but I just think he looks his age.

They've talked about performing again as The Bee Gees but with their family as part of it. But if Robin's unable to, hard to say that'll happen, but if Barry's producing, singing and writing, it's always been a family affair so I don't see why he couldn't do a one time "pass the torch" album.

I think the first 4 albums are great, even though Odessa's a concept album that isn't really telling you a story. Mr Natural's the one that the fans usually say is underrated and overlooked. Main Course and Children of the World are where they took some of the Sat Night Fever songs from but they're not pure disco records. Living Eyes was their first post disco record, but noted for being one of the first albums pressed on compact disc. I think their last major tours were '89 and '93, and the Vegas show was part of a limited tour.

Andy Gibb died from a viral infection to his heart, and it's been speculation as to what brought it on. It's possible he had hepatitis (even though some writers have written he might have had HIV - it was 1988 and the homophobia would've plagued the family at the time.). It's speculation and up to the family whether they'd want people to know. In 2011 it's long ago and not worth their time worth mentioning what happened long ago.
