Where would you expect the programme to air? BBC1 Primetime? Get real - they wouldn't even do that for Madonna.

If the show does air on BBC radio 4 - then that's one of the oldest and respected stations in the country which has millions of devoted listeners.

Not Radio 4, that's far too serious, dull and political a station. BBC Four is a TV channel.

I WAS only kidding, but for the record yes, BBC Two has previously aired prime time documentaries on both Michael and Madonna. Michael several times actually.

Every Friday, BBC4 devotes a whole evening to music. Sometimes the documentaries are new (like these 4) and sometimes not. Most of the time the BBC themselves do make them (last week it was Nirvana and related programmes).

I liked the one they did recently on Herb Albert. The Quincy Jones one was great too. Both were made by the BBC.

I love documentaries but an hour is abit short. But it's better then nothing and BBC are still good at documentaries.

Was that before freeview?

I saw a Madonna one when she turned 40 - way before bbc3 and bb4 existed. Are you referring to that one? A documentary on her now would probably air on a digital channel (bbc3 tend to cover music related programmes) or off-peak on the main ones.

Yes ! they air MJ rubbish all the time on channel 4, E4 and Five - but we all know it's hardly about his music.

BBC4 has aired some excellent documentaries in the past on Smokey and Joni - so much more interesting than the usual artists that are usually featured.
