Teena Marie "Tune In Tomorrow"

This song is a masterpiece imo. It contains some of Teena's best vocals EVER and I love the jazzy feel to it.

Such a GREAT song.

Hell, YEAH! The first time I EVER HEARD "Tune In Tomorrow," I was driving a truck in Boston in 1984 and I had never heard it before because I was more of a singles kinda guy, so I never owned any of her albums. Anyway, it was playing on an AM radio station and when I heard that vibratto, I almost got in an accident! LOL! I pulled over and called the radio station and when they told me it was Teena Marie, I almost SHIT! Next day, needless to say, I owned a Lady Tee album! To this day, "Tune In," "Sunny Skies" and "Gonna Have My Cake" are bright beacons in my personal music collection! Long LIVE the Ivory Queen of R&B! xo

Sing it Teena! I hear this and I think about Sunny Skies, Casanova Brown, and My Dear Mr. Gaye, (some of my favorites). I also love If I Were A Bell, Miracles Need Wings To Fly, Deja Vu, and Dear Lover. She had an outstanding voice. That little woman had so much talent. RIP Lady T.

lol Nice story. I wish I could have heard the song when it was just first released. The scatting she does at the end of "Tune In Tomorrow" is enough alone to make anyone lose it though lol, when I first heard this and "Cassanova Brown", I almost lost it myself. I was like "This Woman cannot be serious...how the hell is she so talented and yet so underrated"? Damn shame.

I really think "Irons In The Fire" is one of her best albums tho which says a lot because there are VERY few songs by Teena that I dislike especially when it comes to her ballads. I have yet to hear a Lady T ballad I dislike which is very rare for me, but I just love all her ballads/slow jams.

She is so talented.

What can i say that has'nt already been said.....This woman voice is what soul singers of the day should be compared not a studio voice like some of the janet come lately's of todays music scene. This song is one of Teena's best vocal performances and the long version on her reissue is the TRUTH 4real she has a depth about her that is unmatched in the game, she makes you feel the song and appreciate the LYRIC & STORY she is trying to convey.....What female vocalist is doing it like Teena Marie?? Singer/Songwriter/Composer/Multi-Instrumentalist/Producer/Arranger Extraordinaire........R.I.P. Our Ivory Queen of Soul.

It has always been one of my favorites. Warming up to some of her newer things has got me totally digging Rose N Thorn from Congo Square. Her phrasing and ah just her voice. She mentioned in her tweets that she was working on a Jass and I think a Gospel album as well. We can only hope and wait....that voice, that woman.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last....
