Red Hot will be one of those albums I plan on getting before the year is out for sure. May check Van Hunt's sometime later.
Marsha's Late Nights and Early Mornings, Amalia's Art Slave and B.Slade's Diesel albums were tops this year.

New Dum Dum Girls is good, but I like I Will Be and the He Gets Me High EP more.
I'll pick up Zola Jesus' new album tomorrow along with the new Björk.
If you like Zola, I would recommend Austra. Their debut album Feel it Break is great. They are very good live too.

Little Dragon - Ritual Union Shabazz Palaces - Black Up Thundercat - The Golden Age of Apocalypse Laura Marling - A Creature I Don't Know Blood Orange - Coastal Grooves
I'm having difficulty figuring out what constitutes a new release.. is the timeframe limited to summer on, or is it strictly fall?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

might get flamed for this...but last album i got was the new blink-182.... great album to me.
also The Jezebels' album "Prisoner".... they never do any wrong for my ears.
i'm hearing good things about the Daryl Hall album.... i've been a huge fan of Hall & Oates for a while now so I'm definitely looking to get that at some point.

Triggerfinger are great, their drummer, Mario Goossens, used to be in a band called Winterville, who were a bit grunge a bit blues, their album is awesome, Everything In Moderation. Winterville's vocalist, Peter Shoulder, is now the vocalist for The Union (see my sig) and they supported Triggerfinger on a few dates in Belguim back in April/May time.

Top Releases for me were:
1. Jill Scott - Light of the Sun 2. Rahsaan Patterson - Bleuphoria 3. Anthony David - As Above, So Below 4. Adele - 21 5. Ledisi - Pieces of Me 6. Marsha Ambrosius - Late Nights & Early Mornings 7. Mint Condition - 7 8. Kelly Price - Kelly 9. Teedra Moses - Luxurious Undergrind 10. Musiq Soulchild - MusiqintheMagiq
Outside of R&B, music has been a huge bore for me this year. Hopefully when I buy the Pancho Sanchez and the other end of the year releases that things pick up. Definitely the worst year for music since the turn of the millenium. Stevie Wonder = EARTH
Prince = WIND Chaka Khan = FIRE Sade = WATER the ELEMENTS of MUSIC

These two kicked my arse for sure, especially Mint Condition's. I still have yet to pick up albums by Rahsaan and Lenny Kravitz, so I'll be picking those up before the year is over. But my album of the year remains this one:
