My White artists thread! This is my response to Gunshalen's thread about music and race in which ( I'll be polite ) a certain pot stirrer got people's ire with his remarks. I didn't respond in that thread but I read enough to realize said jerk does not know what he's talking about. For the record, I am black and a man who listens to many varieties of music, I don't feel I have to prove myself to anybody when it comes to what I like. Thanks to this site and the dearly departed Steve Jobs, my ears have been blessed with everybody's gifts. I'll admit that I'm not a super fan of every artist I'll list but if they wrote a song or album I enjoy, I'll put my money where mouth is.
A group that doesn't get a lot of attention here but should is Death Cab for Cutie...
I liked PLANS and their most recent albums, I'll have to check out their earlier work.
This is the hardest thing I'm listening to now and its damn good... Meshuggah
granted that this is the only album I have of theirs but I've never had for fun killing my eardrums.
I'm right on the verge of buying into her music , I like what I hear so far...
St. Vincent
This is just a fraction of my collection, if this doesn't make a point that we listen to more than just funk and R&B, go kick some rocks and shut the fuck up, danke. Jeux Sans Frontiers

We?
I like Videos 1 and 3. I'll do some research. Never had payed attention to DCFC before and only time I think I listened to St. Vincent was on David Byrne's Here Lies Love. Nice voice.
