But again people are fickle, be it Norah Jones, or Alicia Keys or ALanis Morrisette etc.... they seem to jump on an album when the trend is to jump on that record. Granted all of these artists still have great music and work, but reality is reality, and dont expect duplicate accolades, i view this as Adele's year to cop alot of grammys etc... and then will come backlash and half your audience is gone next record, it happens to them all, I mean Purple Rain to the next album, did about 75% less worldwide "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Yeah that's true. No one can repeat the success they had with the last album, that's just reality.

I guess substantial success can always continue. I think it was a difference with Michael.

Right. I see people now talk about how they tired of hearing about her and how boring she is. It's alot of bandwagoners in the music world.

Well this isnt anything new...
its just refreshing that her music is exactly pretty descent, she doesnt sell an image but instead talent unlike her other female pop peers.

Anyone happen to know how many months passed between the first single being released and the second? It just seems like "Rolling In The Deep" was the single for a year.... Hell, she could probably milk, "Someone Like You" for another year at the rate she's going.
No shade, just marvelling at how long they've been able to stretch the album's lifespan in this market. I guess real talent always bring exceptions to rules.
I'm proud of her and everyone that supported a real singer by purchasing her record. It's such a to the music business.

the album has like 5 or 6 CLEAR potential hit-singles
if the company milks the album properly, this could be the 20 million sold/6 hit-singles in two years/classic album of our times...

I'm very happy for Adele. Her voice is average, but she tolds her own and doesn't stoop to the level of someone like Rihanna (and the likes). She's got a chance at longevity if she plays her cards right.

Wouldn't doubt it if she continues to sell...Although she's signed to a major, I'm somewhat encouraged by her success for other anomalies out there. Especially all those indie artists out there grinding....
I know every artist may not have or want that kind of success but at least they can make a decent living doing what they love without compromise.
