nod One of the underrated tracks. There are just so many gems on The Love Below and Speakerboxxx albums.

IMO this is Dre doing his best Larry Blackmon Cameo/"Word Up" imitation. Oww!!!

That would make sense, given that their bassist Aaron Mills plays on the album. He's not on this track though, I just checked the credits.

Spot on. I just love Andre's style on this cut. I especially love when he hits an higher octave on the "BEHOLD!" part....YES! music

Negro please.

EDIT: I should elaborate. Andre was being pretentious on The Love Below. He clearly did not have the natural ability to pull this album off: leave the one-man band sprawl to Prince or me.

He may have been pretentious, but it worked. Andre was in character on this album and that character, did not take himself seriously. It was imaginative and creative, reminds me of the Prince of old.

You please! Every song on that record is a gem. It's one of the very last few records I can listen to beginnng to end.

Andre did the damn thing and did it well.

"Leave the one-man band sprawl to Prince or" WHO? hmm

Talk about somebody being pretentious! falloff

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Fairly accurate statement but it still worked.

Bwahahahah!

Look, you [name calling snip - luv4u]; if by "every song is a gem" you mean that The Love Below is

a fun listen, then yes, I agree. But not every song on this album is remarkably

well written and executed.

Part of its appeal to me is that Andre is trying to stretch out as an artist

but falls short; the songs are almost child-like in quality. And he should be

lauded for being an emcee trying to transcend his comfort zone.

But, Andre does not possess the talent or ability to tackle an

album with a scope like The Love Below. He was being pretentious; that

is not a bad thing, it just means that homie does not have what it takes to

put out SOTT (Redux) posing as The Love Below.

It's a fun listen, don't get me wrong.
