Yep the fellas did good! What suprised me is how well they mixed the old Time groove with the modern RnB stuff. To me this is a stronger album than Pandemonium and im gonna go out on a limb and say that overall, this is stronger than Ice Creme Castles!

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

Why didn't you just go to Best Buy? smile

Because the darned customer service told me on Sunday that each store was only getting ten copies and that was all so I ordered on line so I wouldn't miss out on the DVD just in case. Now I read Best Buy has plenty of copies. sad doh! So, now I'll just have to wait and avoid the threads. rolleyes disbelief lol

Oh,that's too bad confused Our local Best Buy had plenty of copies....much more than ten.

I feel the same way! nod This album kills 'Ice Cream Castles' and it's much more consistent than 'Pandemonium'.And yes, they did a superb job mixing their old sound with the modern stuff.

Listen closely to the drums of "Strawberry Lake".....very similiar to '1999' lol

"If I Was Yo Man" is my favorite song on the album. It's an instant classic.

When I hear Straeberry Lake I hear a lot of SLY and Prince in the "mix". A great album. SIC is the joint!

Yeah the drums are classic 80's Prince but the lyrics by Morris and Sue Ann Carwell

are very Sly Stonish.

I agree for the most part particularly when comparing to Pandemonium. It's harder to

make the comparison to ICC because it was only a 6 song album. For me all the songs

on ICC were killer but Chili Sauce and If the Kid Can't Make You Come which were obvious

filler. IMO My Drawers and Jungle Love are still killer Time funk classics.

If 1/3 of the album is filler, how are all the songs killer? lol

Just to simplify 4 of the 6 songs are killer. Good ratio for a 6 song album.

Jungle Love and The Bird alone made the album classic. A lot of product that's

out today have 12 to 14 tunes and pretty much 10 songs on them are garbage.

I agree with you on that statement. IMO this album has at least 8 to 10 great tracks. Also, the DVD that comes with it was very enlightenning as well.

for some reason, those two songs ("The Bird" and "Jungle Love") never did much for me."Jungle Love" is too repetitive and "The Bird" sounds like a hastily written throwaway boxed

Well mainly i blame that on where he's releasing stuff, he is giving stuff out in newspapers and not doing much talk about the records nor are his tours incorporating anything of the new music. Prince needs to just have a record and actually support it with a tour/big/small whatever and actually go out and talk about the record, he seems to record and let the shit go.

I guess that happens when you're no longer "hungry" anymore. It seems he has temporarily lost his mojo and/or competative spirit to make the killer music that made him the icon he is of today. Don't get me wrong as I'm still a big fan of his and have the upmost respect for his genius, however the Orriginal 7ven spanked his ass this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who knows, maybe this will wake his ass up!!! HA,HA, HA,.............

That's the way he's always been, though. With the exception of the newspaper thing, that's always been his M.O.

i dont know about the hunger cause he kind of lost things to me in the whole Batman/Graffitti Era, now i think he is too focused with making albums that have a blueprint to them, RB stuff, one or two prince type ballads and then some guitar driven stuff, i think he needs actually do a record and tour the record not tour the hits from decades ago.

I agree to a point as he will sell out any venue he wants, but after the album with "cream" etc he doesnt seem to have the same "spark" he use to have. As I said earlier, he is still a hell of a musician.

Prince is an amazing artist, but I feel like he's on Autopilot these days. His recent albums are good, but not outstanding.I'm thinking that he needs more creative people around him...to inspire and influence him.
