Beyonce announces maternity clothing line after 'fake baby bump' rumours

Beyonce has announced that she is planning to bring out a maternity clothing line, just one day after she dismissed rumours that she is faking her pregnancy (October 11).

The singer – whose publicist yesterday rubbished conspiracy theo...and false" – told Harper's Bazaar that she was working on designing a range of clothing for pregnant women to be sold under her House of Deréon fashion label.

"All I see now are clothes that are flattering on a pregnant woman," she said. "It's been so exciting for me! I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant. Flowery fabrics are always flattering – but I still rock my stilettos."

Beyonce also revealed the reasoning behind her decision to announce her pregnancy at the VMA Awards in August, adding: "I put a lot of thought into how I wanted to unveil it. It was important to me that I was able to do it myself. I was extremely nervous. It was the toughest red carpet I ever did."

She went on:

I didn't want a crazy picture or a gossip story to break the news, so I decided to say nothing and proudly show my baby bump. I felt it was more powerful to see the love and enthusiasm as opposed to saying anything.

However, allegations that Beyonce is faking her pregnancy have spread quickly following the VMAs, with ABC News claiming that the singer's baby bump is a prosthetic, covering up for the "fact" that she has enlisted a surrogate to give birth to her first child.

Rumours have more recently been compounded by footage from Beyonce's recent appearance on Australian television show Sunday Night, during which she revealed her baby was due in February 2012.

In the footage, as the singer sits down on a chair, her bump appears to collapse inward, reports gossip site TMZ (see picture, right).

I'm sure my opinion doesn't matter but honestly I swear the only way I'll believe that SHE is having a baby is I'd have to be in the delivery room and see her deliver it myself. disbelief

Pictures, video, signed affidavits, none of that would convince and that's sad as hell but it's HER fault that I feel that way because she is a conniver. Always has been.

I don't trust her. If she told me it was going to be a warm bright sunny day, I'd grab an umbrella and a jacket.

eek

....

Anyway, I find this maternity clothing line to be a bit predictable and oppurtunistic. Maybe she could just finish promoting her album then go spend a couple months on maternity leave. I think that would be best.

Please. If Beyonce allowed camera's in the delivery room while she gave birth, the same people snickering about her pregnancy being 'fake' would turn around and say that she was exploiting the birth of her baby for publicity. She can't win with some people; so at this point I'm ready for her to say 'Fuck you' to her naysayers.

Where in that article did she say she was creating a maternity clothes line? She's just talking about clothes she is wearing herself.

this scandal is hilarious lol Even during pregnancy (a time when a female celebrity should be out of the spotlight) Beyonce is generating headlines.Someone should advise her that these types of scandals wouldn't happen if she would just sit her ass down and stay out of the spotlight for awhile.

Beyonce usually managed to have audiences focus on her music more than her, but now that album sales are low, it's like she is going after reasons to stay in the headlines to fill that void.

I still want to believe that a person who could live 50 lifetimes without making another cent would never stoop to something so cynical, so insulting to our intelligence, in a bid to make more money.

It's one thing to adopt a kid for a publicity boost. But to pretend having one? Nobody as public as she is would do that.

Would they?

Could she design something that will make a certain pregnant woman go somwhere and sit the fuck down for the next 5 months? lol

This is exactly why nobody believes she's pregnant. She's doubling up on her workload and doing a media blitz everytime she steps out the door! STFU and kickback already!

Why does every pic of her lately have her clutching her stomach like it's a Gucci bag?

Could it be she faked the baby bump to make it appear that she was further along, to milk her pregnancy, and that she'll really have it later on?

Because even her daddy wouldn't devise spmething so stupid.

Please, someone, tell me this pregnancy hoax is a hoax, because if the entertainment industry truly believes it can get the public to buy a fake pregnancy, we're in real trouble as a society.
