The beginning is like straight out of a movie.

Really liked it, although it could have used a bit less of the steamy scenes. Love Britney vogueing! 2012: The Queen Returns

I haven't liked a Britney video since the Circus video. This is a new favorite.

Why is this fatally untalented chippie still around? Seriously. She's 10 years past her expiration date.

a shame people still support this talentless bimbo.
at least her album didn't do too well.

I thought it did do well, at least the singles did. Not saying this to defend her, but I'm just saying I know one of them debuted at number 1 and she had a record with her album, though her voice stinks.
She looks pretty in this video and it's one of the better tracks off the album, but I don't like the video the way I thought I would. The last one was nice though.

It hasn't even sold a million copies, that's a flop considering her circumstances.
I think Monica and Trey Songz even did better than that [Edited 10/18/11 16:36pm]

I stopped being a chart geek like before, but if I'm not mistaken, don't many have trouble reaching 1 million these days? I just know Adele is at 3 million, what about Beyonce and Gaga? I'm not even sure anymore how much the "Michael" album sold in the US.
And Monica still sells over a million? To me, she's yesterday's news though talented. I guess I just prefer the older songs from my youth and the newer ones I heard a few minutes of didn't move me. I prefer Brandy. [Edited 10/18/11 16:38pm]

Nah, Monica or Trey didn't scan a million I messed up on the phrasing, sorry.. both of them outsold Femme Fatale tho. Beyonce is at like 700k I think, but not too sure, and her album is still selling decently well. Gaga went platinum first week, but I don;t know where her album is now.
Femme Fatale is pretty much stalling in the 600k range. [Edited 10/18/11 16:46pm]

Okay if Britney is still at 600,000 that's bad, cause I hear her singles on the radio over here a lot, and I thought she reached half a million in the first month of release if not a little after it. I get it now. Interesting that Monica sold a little more and no one ever talks about her here nor does she get airplay like she did in the 90's.
I don't like what Britney represents, but I do think she's pretty sometimes and her writers give her good songs many times, though her voice ruins them.

As strange as it sounds, I think her breakdown had something to do with it. In the mid-2000s her songs were barely being played on the radio (except "Toxic" ). After her breakdown, suddenly she became freakishly popular and she's been getting more hits than she ever had previously. Even the press stopped picking on her lack of talent. Even though she doesn't even dance anymore during live performances, the crowd goes crazy when she awkwardly gyrates or stumbles around on stage Her songs are still empty and pointless; it's not like her people are giving her amazing songs these days either
I'm with you, btw. Her voice is so unpleasant and I have never understood her appeal...

From how I saw it, Britney always sold and people always liked her, but it was also considered popular to hate her, like it was cool to hate her. I think before the breakdown, the attention she got for being married to Kevin Federline and trying to be rebellious when she wasn't led to the attention too. But if she's not selling well now, it could be cause people around her age are supporting her album more than the younger kids, and these people around the same age have bills to pay now and aren't 16 anymore listening to baby one more time by picking up the album in mass quantities. People have been on Britney's case from the beginning. In the "...Baby" era it was "She'll just be a one-hit-wonder. She'll be gone in 6 months." Then after that theory failed it was "Well the teen-pop craze is dying, BSB is over, N'sync is no more, Spears will expire with them." FAIL #2. Then after marrying & divorcing Kevin it was "The public is sick of her and she'll never have a hit again." FAIL #3. She's been in the business for 13 years and it's time for people to understand that she isn't going anywhere. She is the sole survivor from that wave in 98-99 that's still scoring hits the way she is. You can argue that Justin & Christina made it also but one hasn't made music in years while the other constantly flops.

I would hate on her too for years and feel resentful by the time her popularity was high cause of copying janet and madonna getting credit, but now I don't care anymore . I like what I like of hers, and hate what I hate though I still don't like what she represents and is not an icon IMO.

This might be my favorite video this era. Interestingly enough I also think it might be the weakest song while the strongest single (Till The World Ends) is my least favorite video. [Edited 10/21/11 22:56pm]

I liked "till the World Ends". This one, not so much

I liked that vid too. This new one is one of her three worst, the others being Radar Hold it against me . What an embarrassment.
