If someone asks me what my favorite EW&F album is,I would say that it's either All N' All or I Am.

I truly can't decide! lol

biggrin I love seeing EWFs albums get acknowledged...There's always love for their many hits, but I rarely see anything for their many classic albums. I wish along with the huge box set,the remastered albums will be made available regularly (the ones that weren't already) as well. They never made a terrible album in my opinion, but everything from 72-83 is ace in my opinion. Yes, even Electric Universe. wink
Exiles of the Nation
"Liquidation", the NEW 18th LP. Available everywhere now.

I like Electric Universe too lol That album gets a bad rap from critics and some fans, but I think it's exactly the type of album they needed to make in 1983.Powerlight disappointed me.It sounds like a weak version of Raise.By 1983,they needed to step up their game and try some new sounds. On Electric Universe they did exactly that....the music is edgy and adventurous. It took them in new directions.

I dig the Powerlight album more. I just couldn't get with the Electric Universe album, or anything post the EU album..

I agree with you on the Powerlight album. IMO the only bad song on Powerlight was

Freedom of Choice. It was cool that Maurice wanted to go in a different direction with

Electric Universe which Larry Dunn admittedly was not happy with but the album was

very tepid and bland imo. Magnetic and Moonwalk were brilliant and i could live with

Electric Nation, Touch, and Electric Nation but nothing special. The ballads on the album

were probably the worst they ever done during their 74-83 period. Could It Be Right

and We're Living In Our Own Time were awful. I would take Side By Side, Speed of Love,

and Something Special over anything on Electric Universe.

"Could It Be Right" is awful???!! To me,that's a lost EW&F classic! lol I think it should have been the second single from that album. It's got the same feel and vibe of "After The Love Has Gone".

Me too nod That was their last big, successful album and it's excellent. It's got elements of their familiar sound, but with a late-80s production. The songs are well-chosen.I like every song on it.

"Victim Of The Modern Heart","Here Today And Gone Tomorrow" and "Every Now & Then" are my favorites but really,I love the entire album.

I think the two singles are great."Fall In Love With Me" and "Side By Side" sound like classic EW&F.The problem is with the other tracks lol Songs like "Spread Your Love","The Speed Of Love" and "Freedom Of Choice" sound cold and lifeless. They were running low on inspiration at that point. This is their weakest album of the 80s.

Speaking of EWF, what is going on with their Phoenix project.

Weren't they talking about a fall release?

I haven't heard anything else about it.I thought that when they launched their new website,we would get some news about it but so far, nothing.

A few months ago, they revealed that they also have a 'Live' album on the way,in addition to the new studio album.
