It's supposed to. Marvin's ex, Jan even gave R. Marvin's last driver's license picture after hearing this album. She thanked him for doing a great Marvin tribute.

Hell half of the records were Marvin-inspired lmao!!! I can see why Janis thought that way because when I played the entire album, only person's music it reminded me of was Marvin.

I doubt that but he does seem to love Marvin Gaye.... a lot. He's always praising him. I can also see the similarites in their work but overall R. is far more bold. It's huge that Janis gave him Marvin's license. Especially since Janis was the inspiration behind some of Marvin's best work.
