I am loving it. It's quirky, temperamentful and perfect noise for headphones.

If you wanna box it; Blackout Beach new album sounds like a cross between Arcade Fire, Radiohead and Bauhaus. But it's so quite uniquely their own, it's not really doing them a service trying to categorise them.

Not an easy record, Carey Mercer (of Frog Eyes) does not have an easy voice. But he uses it as an instrument at times, he shrieks, he whispers and wows me all over again.

The spookiness lures me in, the discomfort makes me enjoy all the textures that run deep on this record. If you like gloomy, dense electronic layering, disjointed melodies and rampage guitars, then this is your joint.
