Is Green Day taking a Holiday?

A few years back, somewhere between 2008 & 2009, Green Day was huge. They were on the radio about 50% to 80% of the time and they had their hit musical American Idiot on Broadway. Now I don't hear squat about them. Does anyone know where they are? Are they making a new album? Are they touring right now? Or worse, are they done?! I want to know if they're alright. I like my Green Day!

I liked Time Of Your Life and Basket Case

After that they became awfully mainstream for a punk band confused

I'd like to see normal Americans picking them out in the street and beating the shit out of them, and cops looking the other way. They're not so interested in helping America as they are rabble rousing and sowing dischord. I really feel they've done more than their fair share of harm to this country, under the guise of "punk rock!" which by the way, they aren't.

I TRIED to get into Green Day. I think I only liked one song or two they did and that was from around '94. But I just couldn't fully get into 'em...

I only have American Idiot in my collection which means I'm POPpy every once in a while. If it's their best album in terms of commercial success ( given the play behind it ) , that's more than enough for me.

Dookie is one of the most overrated albums of the 90's, a few standout tracks the rest..... is just pop/punk crap.

American Idiot is one of the most overrated albums of the 00's i was in 8th grade when it came out. Everyone was hardcore into that album and thinking they where punk, or rock or... whatever lol

It was cute and all....

But then they did there next album and where doing Bob Dylan covers acting like there some big important band, They need to have a seat in something big that reclines and stay there biggrin

American Idiot was out in 2005 & 06, we had the album calendar lol I liked them from afar since 95 so I appreciate some of their singles and own Dookie & American Idiot, but they became overexposed and "scene" , which is not what they were about in the 90's.
