I'd like to see Chaka Khan's solo albums reissued, with the appropriate b-sides and 12" mixes as bonus tracks. From 1978's

Chaka Khan's solo albums from 1978's Chaka to the Destiny album from 1986, with appropriate 12" mixes and b-sides (like "Lover's Touch"). I know her first 3 albums are on cd but they're a bit skimpy with the liner notes. I'd also like to see Georgio's first album reissued on cd with 12" mixes as bonus tracks.

First up HARRY CHAPIN for gods sakes, this guy still has albums Not on cd! let alone reiusses

Next BILLY JOEL yes i know this was done about 20 years ago, but the bonus stuff was lame enhanced footage of videos on the cds! Really Enhanced footage? plus the remastering sucked ass and the cds still sounded like crap.

Next all the INXS albums, they only did 3 remasters and they were good, but deserved more "looking'into bsides and remixes etc...YES they did have a re-issue box set overseas BUT none were remastered no extra songs etc...it was a record company rip off, the band wasnt even involved with it or endorsed it.

a-ha, RHINO totally did an amazing job remastering their first 2 discs, found tons of mixes, demos and bsides, now its time do albums 3-9, though they have disbanded, universal and warner are planning issuing things from them.

I have this set, which I'm sure you also have wink it's cool to have these albums on CD,but like you said, the packaging is cheap and there are no liner notes or bonus tracks.Chaka deserves better.

I know. I'm dreaming of the day where that will actually happen.

I really do believe she's still working on gaining access to those masters. She mentioned it during a recent interview with David Nathan. I think part of the problem is she's trying to go the cheap route without having to hire a slew of lawyers to do it for her. She's not exactly rolling in dough.

BBR has "In The Night" scheduled for reissue next year. I don't know if they are going to follow thru with releasing the remainder of her Sony catalog. To me, it would be a waste of time since they were recently reissued as Japan imports for the second time, only this time with a few bonus tracks.

Fine, at least keep the idea under wraps untill she could afford enough to materialize it, all this talking about releasing the elusive Rufus boxet feeds into the frustration.
