Carol Kaye ~ Bass Catch

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Cool track.

Written by another great bass player, Ray Brown.
He plays the acoustic bass parts on this track.

Part of The Wrecking Crew (L.A. session players), as a guitarist & bassist, that played on tons of Pop hits.

I got to play with her a few times.

Played with her son Peter a few weeks ago who is a very good drummer.

She used to be a hottie back in the day.

I love Carol Kaye. She played with many of the greatest. She also seems like a very level-heaved lady.

The most recent i have heard of her is some splendid bass-work on some Beach Boys inspired-songs on the album In Reverse by Matthew Sweet.
