I remember Silk. They had a couple of decent R&B songs in the early 90s, then kinda fell off... I guess "Freak Me" was their big Pop radio hit. I vaguely remember Portrait, but no songs come to mind.
On a side note, why is the video quality of this 1992 episode so horrible??? Looks blurry and pixelated. Yet all the 1970s-late 80s episodes I've seen have near pristine video quality, almost as if they were shot yesterday. Hey...

They need to get off these New Jack Swing episodes and go back to The Dramatics era shows. I haven't even seen a Jackson 5 show. These early 90s episodes are not that bad at all. They're better than the few I've seen shown from 88. They didn't become bad until like 98 onwards. I don't know why they are showing stuff from 2006. Maybe they hired some new young workers lol. PRINCE: Always and Forever

Gotcha... I mistakenly assumed 1992 because Toni sang the song from the movie Boomerang, which came out in the summer of that year. Didn't quite hit the bull's eye with the date, but my dart aimed near the right direction.

The Commodores must have got these outfits from Jermaine Jackson. I never really heard anything from them after Nightshift.
I don't really dig these Cross Colors era fashions the ST dancers are wearing, nor the flat tops. But I didn't like them at the time either. But it's still better than the "pants on the ground" & thug wear of now. Doesn't it make at least a little sense for Bounce TV to try to appeal to the youger viewers who may not enjoy the music and styles of the 70s and 80s and have a limited amount of patience for listening to music that was popular or new before they were born?
When I was listening to music in the 70s and 80s I could tolerate, when I had my choice, only approximately 10% of my time for listening to music that was new before I was born or before I was a teenager.
On the positive side, the V103 type of stations now do a good job of mixing good quality "old school" music and select new music.
Have you seen any episodes on Bounce TV that have performers from the 90s/2000s that have had success and at least moderate appeal to the most discerning R&B enthusiasts? Examples (my opinion): Blackstreet, Donnell Jones, R. Kelly, Faith Evans, Destiny's Child, Joe, Avant, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Gerald Levert, Aaliyah, 90s/2000s Luther, Tribe Called Quest, SWV, Adina Howard, or any others that you feel deserved credit for quality music?

As a side but related topic, I feel that I missed out on opportunities to learn about extremely enjoyable (i.e.the sexiest & most danceable) R&B music of the early 80s and the 70s ( I did not begin to listen to R&B radio until 1983 or 1984) and I bet that a lot of young people who appreciate quality music principals would enjoy learning about the best jams that did not always have a high profile on R&B radio stations.
I used dozens of hours from 2006 to 2010 to scour Itunes, Rhapsody, Amazon.com, and You Tube for R&B and funk from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s.
But, for example, only 1 month ago I finally heard "You've Got My Soul On Fire" by the Temptations. I heard it on Soul Train on Centric. Additionally, I finally heard "Breakdown Part 1" by Rufus Thomas in late 2010/early 2011. I heard it on Soul Train on Centric. (by the way, you should watch his tape of his live performance when the song was new. it is on You Tube.)
This is a key benefit to Bounce TV if any substantial amount of people below the age of 30 have an interest in it and can break away for there obsession with how to appease the company that is their employer.
Personally, I (maybe in a minority) enjoy the history involved in observing the evolution of fashion, music, and dance steps at different points in the history of Soul Train as its episodes maintained yearbooks for R&B music.

Bounce shows Rosanne reruns and movies with Sally Field and Richard Pryor. I don't think that is attracting young viewers Most young people are not interested in music shows anyway, that's why MTV quit showing music videos and now has "reality" programs. If you go on Youtube, Soul Train has a channel, and I'm pretty sure they don't have any where near as many views as a Black Eyed Peas video. If young people were really interested in Soul Train, it wouldn't have stopped production, and it would still be on the air. He's on The Young And The Restless now and so is Bryton who played the little kid that was adopted on Family Matters. Tatiana Ali also appears on the show sometimes too. I wish they would stick with the 70s and early 80s nothing past 1984

The music (nationwide, not just on Soul Train) definitely got much worse after 1984 so I have very little desire to see any episodes past that point for that reason. As for the dancing, after around 1982, the dancing on the show became horrible. Stiff women that reminds me of white women trying to dance "black" but just ain't quite loose enough to pull it off (and I'm talking about the black women on the show being stiff as hell after 1982).
Guestwise, I'd love to see episodes from 1983 and 1984 but the dancing on the show by then was horrible. I don't know why they became stiff like that. We never became stiff down here and it makes me wonder if Don picked out some dancers that danced stiffer for a more "tame" image because it was around that time that the magazines were accusing him of trying to take the "soul" out of "Soul Train" and appeal to more pop viewers. Why else would he start playing songs by Huey Lewis & The News, Dire Straits, & Laura Branigan. The dancers were also more mulicultural around this time, when in the 1970's, there were very few non-black dancers. Video Soul & Video Vibrations on BET used to show pop videos in the 1980's too.
