One of the great soul ballads of the '60s. Even though he didn't write this song it's still "new" as opposed to most of what he was recording at that time (remakes of his '50s hits). Obviously he could do contemporary soul as well as anyone at that time, I can't help wishing that he had landed at Stax ot Atlantic at some point in the '60s. He was still a phenomenal performer but he had trouble finding great material to record.
