INXS notch yet another Top 5 Dance Hit with "MEDIATE" (lead vocals by Tricky) changes also in the band.....

ONE THING under the radar this year is the goings on in INXS. The Band released a "re-works" cd called "ORIGINAL SIN" earlier this year, which included some of their best songs, and featured a different lead singer on each track, the album got great reviews and has done well, it lead to a USA tour this past summer, limited dates, with JD Fortune at the helm their lead singer since 2005. As the tour went on INXS notched its first ever number one hit on the dance chart with "Original Sin" with Rob Thomas as the lead singer, this was a huge accomplishment considering INXS was one of the first bands in the early 80's to do remixes and also have a remix album/ep. They continued touring, the album was selling pretty well considering it was on their own label imprint, a second single Who was released "MEDIATE" by Tricky this time, it has since gone Top 5 giving them another chart hit on the dance chart! As this all was going on their was a website countdown to new music, and revealed on that promised day was a demo "TINY SUMMER" with a new voice....strangely similar to BONO, everyone thought that sir bono had lent his voice to the band or at least for demos. BUT it was later revealed by main writer Andrew Farriss who with Michael Hutchence wrote alot of INXS's hits, Andrew revealed that he was stuck for years and couldnt write anything new or find a person that he could collaborate with, which was a hint that JD was not going to be continuing with the band, and announced , JD and INXS on friendly terms would part, JD filling his obligations and doing that tour for them, and now in late 2011 and early 2012 they embark on a new tour with a new voice, 15 years after losing Michael! As Andrew said when he met their new singer, it was instant like it was back when he met michael as far as the writing process. SO for now just a demo of a song, but much to come from INXS and their new singer CIARIN GRIBBIN a 35 year old irishmen. Who actually was a co-writer on Madonna's "Celebration" and headed his own band, the future will only tell what INXS will do, but they go on, it will be interesting to hear this new voice with that sound, its very different is all i can say, but i think INXS new this was coming and why the latest cd had all different lead singers including JD, though i must say as a choice id go with JD, but time will tell, U cant judge on a demo
