Patrick Stump solo album "Soul Punk" released October 18th

"Former" front man of Fall Out Boy is releasing his first full length album "Soul Punk" on October 18th biggrin He has done a Prince and written, produced and performed every single instrument on the album.

Tracklist

1. "Explode"
2. "This City"
3. "Dance Miserable"
4. "Spotlight (New Regrets)"
5. "The "I" in Lie"
6. "Run Dry (X Heart X Fingers)"
7. "Greed"
8. "Everybody Wants Somebody"
9. "Allie"
10. "Coast (It's Gonna Get Better)"
11. "This City" (featuring Lupe Fiasco, bonus track)

Deluxe Edition

12."Bad Side of 25"
13."People Never Done a Good Thing"
14."When I Made You Cry"
15."Mad At Nothing"
16."Saturday Night Again" (bonus track)

Personally I am ridiculously excited for this album. Patrick him self has said he hopes this is "smart pop music" with around "90% of the album being metaphors" using the traditional "pop" song themes such as parties, girls and drinking.

The current single is "This City remix ft Lupe Fiasco" as the label suggested a rapper and he was at the top of theirs and Patrick's list.

He also released an EP "Truant Wave" in February this year. He is also touring with Panic! At The Disco in the US in the next few months (hopefully UK soon!)

Also he has stated he has an obsession with Prince and is a massive Michael Jackson and David Bowie fan. Sorry for the long post haha, I am incredibly excited for this record smile

I have been anticipating this album for a while. I can't wait! I heard snippets of the songs and they sound great! Especially Explode! He is so talented. I love his new look too. I hope people will be accepting of his new direction!

I hope people accept it too as he's said he wasn't really ever into "punk rock", I think this is the music he has always wanted to make smile

I love his voice and think his talents stretch beyond what Fallout Boy did as a band. I think maybe his weight was holding him back in terms of being a megastar but now that he's transformed himself he might do really well. He really looks like a completely different person to me now. It's amazing!

What is Pete Wentz up to musically?

That's right and he isn't very good as a host. He was a but flat. I was expecting more personality from him since he was the "star" of Fallout Boy.

I am excited for the bonus tracks as there has been no previews of them except for "Saturday Night Again" which is out there and "Bad Side Of 25" which has been performed live a lot by Patrick. I think it actually could be one of my favourites smile

This could possibly be my album of the year but I need more time with it. This album is smokin! He is so talented and has one of the best male vocalists i've ever heard. Home boy has range for days. I hope this album sells. He deserves success.

He SLAYED the hell outta that MJ medley and I'm merely a casual listener/fan of MJ. eek

I always enjoyed his voice and I have a mini EP of my favorite FOB songs that I could tolerate. I'm glad that shitty band is done and that Patrick can now give us actually good music. We shall see if he does with this album. cool

Stevie Wonder = EARTH
Prince = WIND
Chaka Khan = FIRE
Sade = WATER

I'm still a fan of the FOB stuff... and I look forward to the solo album. But I still think this song will be my favorite of his:

Just wish the lame rap wasn't in it. lol.

Pat does a mean MJ... sometimes I feel like he sounds too much like MJ on the solo stuff though.
