Gorillaz have announced plans to release a collection of their hits this winter. The band will include 15 tracks on their compilation disc The Singles Collection: 2001-2011, which will be available on November 28.

The album will mark their tenth anniversary as a band and will come in a multitude of formats including CD, DVD, vinyl and special edition 7" box set.

Earlier this week, Gorrilaz character Murdoch fuelled rumors of the group's possible split after he tweeted: "Gorillaz are TEN. Ten years old, eh? T.E.N. What's that stand for? The End is Nigh…!"

However, a second message relayed fans' fears and alluded to today's announcement: "Something special has just floated up on my island. A small toy trumpet to herald a big announcement. Think I'll be blowing that tomorrow."

Gorrillaz consists of musician Damon Albarn and animator Jamie Hewlett, who have released four studio albums together over the past decade.

Their previous collaborators include Snoop Dogg, D12, Dangermouse, Little Dragon, Shaun Ryder and Lou Reed among many others.
