So typical of Axl, nearly an hour past GNR's scheduled start time and they still haven't taken the stage.
I've got tix for Nov 19 @ 8 PM and Nov 25 @ 7:30 PM, if the shows start before 10 PM I will consider myself lucky. At least I don't have to work the day after either concert. i love you Lemmy but my gosh you sounded like 3 steps from death on stage.When GNR played RIR in 2001 they were 2 hours late.
This year they signed off on an agreement which allows them to be fined if they take the stage late, I would love to know how late they must be before the fine kicks in. No, he looks like a bloated Dick Tracy.
When did he gain all the weight? He was in much better shape when he did the Canada gigs early last year.

Yeah, just look at it as a Axl solo show with the added bonus of him playing Guns songs! At least that's what I do.... to a point where I'm not even watching the other players when I'm at a show, as they annoy me so much! There is not one guy in the band I really like, but whatever... I'm not there for them!

This is the way I look at it, on stage the lead singer is the most important member of the band. GNR would not be GNR without Axl because he's the voice of the band. If he's not doing the singing, it's not GNR. Nobody can replicate his voice, which to me is THE BEST rock voice of the past 30 years.

Yeah! That's sadly it... the singer is always at an advantage over the rest of a band and can hold a band hostage, so to say.
But that said, Slash is doing quite well too.... I saw him this year and last year and while the singer is different, he plays a lot of Guns stuff and it is top notch! | |

Other bands have tried to switch lead singers, it just doesn't work - even with a legendary lead guitar such as Eddie Van Halen. Few people seemed to like the Sammy Hagar days of VH.
