Freestyle legend Stevie B is arrested for not paying child support! I'm not making this up: http://news.yahoo.com/pol...29164.html
SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts (AP) — Police say a singer known for his 1990 chart-topping love song was hauled off a Massachusetts stage and arrested on charges of owing $420,000 in unpaid child support. Steven Bernard Hill of Las Vegas was arrested Friday night at the MassMutual Center, where he was performing on tour. Hill performs as Stevie B and is best known for the song "Because I Love You (The Postman Song)." It reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts in late 1990. Springfield police Sgt. John M. Delaney tells the Springfield Republican that Hill was surprised by the arrest and concerned that he might miss a weekend show in Providence, Rhode Island. Hill is scheduled to be arraigned Monday. He couldn't be reached for comment Sunday. Police didn't know if he had an attorney.
Just take in consideration that he has NOT had a hit on the Billboard dance charts or the Hot 100 singles charts in more than 2 decades, hence one reason for falling behind on payments.

From what LastDecember told me a while back, Freestyle is still played on a underground level in NYC. I don't know about Miami, Houston, Las Vegas, or Los Angeles.
But this genre has not been on a mainstream level since FM radio stop playing it in 1994. But Stevie B was still making music and still touring the Freestyle/Dance retro club circuit. How much or less is a very good question.

Doesn't he like write and produce? If not, then he should've tried to be. Or just not have any more kids...
