Mobb Deep - Hell On Earth

[img:$uid]http://iamatrapstar.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/mobb-deep-hell-on-earth.jpg[/img:$uid]

One of my favorite hip-hop albums of all time. Give it up for the Infamous Mobb Deep!

This and their previous album "The Infamous" are both classics, but I prefer this one. Hard to choose but I think Havoc's production was at it's peak here.

I do remember liking some Mobb Deep cuts, but I'm fuzzy with the titles though it was in middle school. Hell On Earth had a remix I LOVED

One of the wickedest albums of the '90s, agree the production is sublime. The Infamous just shades it for me as their magnum opus, defining factors being 'Shook Ones Pt.II' and 'Survival Of The Fittest'. God Pt III is my favouritedfrom HOE.

If in one word I had to describe The Infamous it'd be menacing, with this one I'd go with apocalyptical.

Yo, I was just thinking about making a thread on this album, but I wasn't sure if anyone else felt the way I did about it. This is one of the coldest albums of all time imho. I love the Gothic sound of it. "Nighttime Vultures", "G.O.D. Pt.3', "Still Shinin'", Extortion", & every other track on that album is crazy dope! It's a classic to me. I truly miss when hip hop was raw like this album is. "hip Hop" is a bit too "feminine" for me now days though..... lol

lol Lex Luger is child's Play imho. I make better beats than he does anyways. I'm more of a J Dilla, Premo, Pete Rock, Black Milk, Flying Lotus, type of guy. All of Lex Luger's beat sound the same.

Meh, Lex beats have been my favorites this year along with Tyler The Creators.

Sure, all his beats kinda sound similar, but that's what happens when you blow up. EVERY artist that calls him up wants "BMF" or "Hard In The Paint". If he gives them other stuff they don't want it.

Same thing that happened to Neptunes after "Superthug" dropped and then all their shit sounded the same for like 3 years after that.

Anyway, I love Dilla, Premo and ESPECIALLY Pete Rock (shit I even copped that Petestrumentals album) but that shit is old skool now, even though it's what I grew up. Hip-Hop is in a new era and late 80's and 90's producers ain't really doing anything interesting for the most part. Even Quik's recent album, I dug it but there was no real replay value for me and he's one of my favorite producers of all time.

Lex shit is what's BUMPIN right now. If you dig into his production discography, he has made some different sounding shit, but like I said, everybody wants that BMF sound.

one of the top contenders of 96! Dope album..brings back memories.

I recall the lead up to this with all the shit going on..Mobb recorded some sinister tracks and a joint that never made it which was a more indeph diss/reply to pac etc.

still shinin is one of my fav joints..stretch armstrong blessed this on his tape during the late summer.
