The Many Octaves of Mariah Carey…

Frankly, not enough can be said about Carey’s voice or the emotional goosebumps she puts behind it. Whether she’s shrilling high up into the rafters or anchoring a song with her velvety lower register, her ability to transform her five octave wonder from just a voice to a musical instrument is brilliant. Take a listen to all five of Carey’s octaves complied from over twenty years worth of self-penned music and edited into a one-minute [fanmade] video after the jump! Don’t forget to pick up your jaw after it’s over…source

4 octaves - the maximum range of voices of singers, which is very rare.
Mariah has quite possibly four octaves.
Talk about 5 octaves - is a myth!
Freddie Mercury, for example, 3.5 octaves, he is a genius singer!! smile
