Nancy Wilson Retiring From Touring

http://www.soultracks.com...wilson.htm

Dear Soul Tracks Readers,

For those of you who have helped me along this journey and for those who are just joining us, I say "Thank You" for your support." It has been actually 52 years of doing what I love, but is now time to really cut back. I'll probably record again, and except a few very special concerts, but all in all you won't see me out there on the circuit. I need to spend more time at home with my family, get more involved in developing my radio show, record for books and other things of interest. But I'll never forget you. You took me into your arms of love and that made all the difference in the world, to me. So it's not goodbye, its "we'll meet again someday", and I'll not forget you, don't you forget me. Nancy

She has had one HELL OF A LONG ride! She embodies class, elegance, charm, wit, talent and intelligence all in one package. I saw her about 10 years ago in Boston at Sculler's Jazz Cafe and she signed my "Take My Love" album for me. She was phenominal! Brought the house DOWN and she was probably close to 60, if not a little older. Capitol really needs to start reissuing her later catalog as two-fers. Specifically "This Mother's Daughter," "I've Never Been to Me," "Music on My Mind," "Life, Love and Harmony" and of course her swansong for the label, "Take My Love," which I LOVE! "The Sadness in My Eyes" is one inCREDILBLE slice of after hours, wrist-slitting Torch singing at its very BEST. God Bless Miss Nancy!
